What is the best place in Asia to travel to?

If I have to pick up one country, I'll say Thailand. But I am very much sure any country in Asia won't disappoint you.

There is no 'best place' in Asia. The beauty of the region is the differences in culture from country to country. It all depends on what You are looking for. Party, nature, diving, people,shopping.......
Start in the South like Bali, work up through Malaysia, Thailand, Burma, Laos, Vietnam....

If I have 2 weeks up and have more than US$3,000.00+ as my budget, I would go to Japan.

If I have only 1 week or lesser, I would go to Thailand / Bali / or nice places in China with around US$1,000.00 - US$500.00

I live in Hong Kong, so Hong Kong and Macau won't be in my list!

Indonesia, because so many to do and see... Indonesia has great & varies cultures, each island has it's own style.
Thailand also great next destination!

Japan. I went to several places in Asia. I have to say Japan is a very different one. It is same like another western countries with the advance technology. Japan is also a very clean country and has the less crime in the world.

I've travelled to Asia and my personal choice is Thailand.

Choose from these countries, depends on your budget and likes.
High Budget
1. Hong Kong - Disneyland, Ocean Park, Victoria Peak and Shopping.
2. Singapore - Sentosa and shopping for electronics
3. Japan - Kobe is a nice place and try the Kobe beef. Shopping for electronics.

Low Budget
1. Thailand - Bangkok Temples, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Golden Triangle, Elephants, Spicy food, Seafood, Fresh vegetables and Shopping.
2. Philippines - Boracay Beach, Cebu, Palawan-El Nido, Coron, Calauit Safari, Amanpulo, Anilao Diving, Banaue Rice Terraces and Shopping.
3. China - culture and good food. I'm going there on October.

Just returned from Bangkok, Singapore, Bali and Hong Kong.

Liked Bali the best. the people are very friendly and the beaches are great. Lots of things to do.

Singapore was the cleanest and most orderly.

Bangkok had the best and cheapest massages.

Hong Kong had the rudest people and is expensive. Just like any other Big City. Great shopping if you like knock offs.

I'd been to many parts of Asia - Japan, China, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia. All of them are great except for Malaysia - I had a very bad experience.
