I personally, when i'm in an emotional breakdown. I listen to the song that reminds me of what i'm going throu. It's sad, I know, but it helps me understand the stuation better.

I like to listen to comedy when I'm feeling stressed or majorly upset. Laughter really picks you up and is a great stress reliever. Stephen Lynch has some funny, dark, singalong songs. I like Carlos Mencia, Dane Cook or David Cross (some don't like his political/atheist humor - but I think he's hysterical).

If you want music, something with a good beat - 80's pop songs are great, ABBA from the 70's. Some songs you wouldn't be caught dead listening to, but they really do help.
