Aside from corruption, OVER POPULATION is the main problem. Even if we give everyone jobs, a father and mother can not feed or educate 5 to 8 children. It is already expensive to raise 3 children, 5 or 8 children is beyond reason. Most of these children end up in the streets and resort to criminal activities just to survive. Hence as the population of the poor explode, so with hunger incidence in the Philippines. Unfortunately the Catholic Church is against any form of artificial family control. |

The PEOPLE
corruption does not only apply to people in the government. It can be more widely observed in classrooms(student cheaters) to LRT's (people who doesn't want to fall in line) to sidewalk vendors, to sidewalk vendors buyers, to flying voters, to kotong cops, to wrong and malicious information's shown by the media up to the leaders in malacanang..
- no discipline
- social climbers
- escaping poverty by marrying foreigners
- religious leaders who try to influence their people for personal intentions
- poor education
- low morality
PS: f**k those presidential canditates for 2010 election hu has tv ads this early, namely LOREN LEGARDA AND MANNY VILLAR
and **** those people hu will vote for them..

Maybe YAP again

I don't want to offend anyone, but I think everyone should "sweep" in front of their own house.
I hear a lot of people blaming the government for everything. Well, maybe some things can be blamed on the government, but one should blame oneself first.
I know many filipino families, sitting in front of their nippa hut, waiting for their cousin's paycheck to come. The cousin is working overseas and waiting for the paycheck is easier than to look for work themselves.
If everyone would take ACTION at home, in their street, in their barangay...the Philippines would be such a better and nicer country.
Every year the OFWs send 14 BILLION US$ home... Where is the money? How come the families don't get better?
Where are the tourists? Only on Boracay?
Here in Iloilo, I see dirty beaches, toxic smoke bellowing jeepneys, sidewalks occupied by stalls, street sweepers and other people burning their garbage on the street, throwing garbage into the river...etc...
Change? "we can't do it, because we're a poor country" BULLSHIT!!!
Thailand can do it, and that's a poor country too, and they're getting millions of tourists every year.
There are so many unemployed people here in the Phils...let them clean up the beaches, parks, plaza's and streets, pay them with food, rice, etc..
Educate kids, AND adults, not to throw garbage on the street, not to burn things, not to beg AND not to steal from tourists, or calling every "white" a Kano or shouting at them "Hey Joe". It's very impolite and not every white person is an American.
If streets and beaches are safe and clean, tourists will come and SPEND.
If everyone tries to find a job, and tries to manage his/her money in a good way, then the Philippines will be a better place.
But most important...keep on smiling... |

i recently spent two months there
i'd agree on corruption
but i also noticed the extreme lack of sexual education, and how the conservative christian government really controls and limits birth control there
very sad
i asked a friend there if he could name 5 STDs
and he said "i know of AIDS and herpes... wait, they are the same"
how tragic |

Corruption at all levels of the government from the president all the way down to the Baranguay captions. Money goes into the politicians pockets instead of their designated purpose. |

Communication.
their are 700 dialects and many don't know Tagalog the national language.
because they didn't have enough money to go to or get a higher education. |

Lack of Education.
This means that people are not educated enough to recognise that the Catholic church are filling their heads with useless information and lies (e.g. don't use contraception and have more children that you can't afford to feed).
It also means that the people can't see through dishonest politicians who are corrupt.
Fix the education and the other problems will fix themselves.

everybody is saying that it is corruption but it is not!!!!! if filipinos are not focusing on the individual alone, maybe our country will be better. we should have a sense of nationalism to be able to do good things for our country. if we love our country (and i mean truly really love it with all our hearts like we will die for it and so on) corrupt officials would think twice before stealing the nation's money because they know that filipinos would fight and fight hard for the betterment of the country. so LACK OF NATIONALISM is the main problem! |

Their entire government is corrupt. Philippine politicians only care for themselves and not for the good of their people. There is no enforced emission regulations so pollution is horrible in the main islands. To many polluted motorcycles and "Jeepneys" that exist that it is impossible to get them off the road. Drivers have no respect for traffic laws therefore gridlock exist in every city. To many imported goods and not enough exported goods which causes high unemployment and high cost of food and goods. Gas is like $8 a gallon cause it also has to be imported. Most of the cities outside of the metropolitan area known as provinces are like like third world living conditions. |
