Many people look for the lechon. Most of the time i see fruit salad, spaghetti, embutido, chop suey, shanghai lumpia, pancit, cake, buko pandan, guinataan (especially for kids' birthdays in the farm). |

When in a traditional Filipino fiesta, the star of the serving table would be the all-favorite Lechon. Also, the menu won't be complete without the "-do" foods. menudo, embutido, mechado, etc.. Other favorites are kare-kare and lengua (cow tongue in mushroom sauce). And don't forget pancit bihon as sidedish=)
As for urban parties, I haven't actually gone to many as to sufficiently say, sorry=) |

Popular?... I have no idea.
But here's a list of the cooked delights my mom prepared for my hometown's fiesta of 2003...
-Giant prawns (about 15 kilograms prawns as big as my foot).
-Kare-kare
-Morcon (spelling may be inaccurate)
-Cantonese chop-seuy
-Embotido
-A whole rosted pig
-Menudo
-Grilled chicken (I was in charge of roasting that together with my cousins)
-Plus almost all the dessert known to man. |

Enigma

I think the most popular food during parties, in particular, birthday parties, is either spaghetti with meat sauce or pancit. Either of these two are almost often present in the party table. |
