I think there is no right age for girls to wear make-up.
Occassionally, even toddlers wears one..lol
Anyone can wear make-up as long as they are comfortable with it, makes them feel good themselves and looks good on them too.
For teen-agers, I think the right kind of make-up would be subtle ones highlighting their fresh faces and enhances their innocence.
so, I guess it's not a matter of age, but how you wear it and how you carryu yourself with it.
As for me, being a barrio lass and all, am not much into make-up. I rarely wear one. And, daily make-up for me is talc, lip balm, lip shiner and if I feel like it, I wear eye shadows...=) |

For me, when they reach the age of majority (18) or when they are responsible enough to handle make-up. There are young girls that looked like hookers with make-up on. They should remember that the skin is very delicate especially in infancy to early teens and exposure to harsh make-up ingredients would only cause damage.
Todays parents are blinded to the reality that young girls want to fit in with other young girls to feel accepted and part of a group. The fact is we need to be a parent first, not a friend. We need to educate these young girls on how society views them when they wear make-up. We spoil them and set them up for later down the road when they have to buy this stuff themselves.
If they can't wear it properly and moderately, they shouldn't be allowed to wear it at all. If you are the parent, sent good examples and standards for them to follow and don't let them set the tone by telling you everyone is doing it. Some parents have to step up sooner or later and take charge! Pay attention to what is happening with these young girls today, you let them grow up to fast. |

when you're in the stage of 'teenagehood', i prefer when you're in college but of course you can use make-up if it's important like for example stage plays, formal parties and the like because why would you wear make-up to school? but being in college has exceptions. |

If they have a job and they can pay it for themselves. I started putting make up when I was 17 yrs old at the same time I had a part time job so I never hassled anyone to buy me my facial needs.. |

There is no right or wrong age for girls to wear make-up but I would consider the capacity to buy should be the basis..Girls could start wearing make-up as soon as they know how to earn a living for themselves. If they are still dependent from their parents, or just asking from their friends or relatives for support, no matter how old they may be then I think they donthave the right to wear make-up. |

Well, I live in Singapore and girls here generally don't start wearing makeup regularly till they're around 17 or 18, unless it's for a special occasion or something. I don't think there is any "right age", I believe that girls who wear makeup should know how to carry themselves well and besides, there are factors to be considered like skin sensitivity and all.
There is nothing inherently wrong with wearing makeup; however, some traditional parents insist that girls who wear makeup are sluts/vain/self-conscious, which is not always true. I think it depends on the person herself, her maturity level (no one would go around putting makeup on a 6-year-old), and how she feels regarding wearing makeup. But not too much, please. |

I started wearing making when I was about to go to my internship, and I was 21 then. One does need make up in college. I think it is just needed when you go to the corporate world. Try to spare your youthful skin from chemicals. |

In my humble opinion, and as a confirmed cynic, there should not be any makeup on any girl at whatever age.
I would love any girl with or without her makeup. But if I loved any girl for her makeup, then I loved her makeup not the girl.
Of course, this could just be brave talk, and considering that if I see a street lamp with a skirt on it, I might begin to court that street lamp, you can void any favorable consideration on this answer. |

I think the right age to start wearing make-up is aftewr you get out of high school. by then your skin is fully formed and you will be mature enough to start to learn to enhance your facial beauty by adding some make up. make up can be damaging to the skin because of the harsh chemcials so prolonged and constant use should be avoided as much as possible. Besides while you are young you should let your skin stay as healthy as psossible by using make up very sparingly and only when absolutely necessary.
So that is why I think at age 18 is the proper time for a girl to start wearing make-up becasue before that time she should be concentrating on her studies and on her social development in high school minus the distraction that the over use of make up could possibly cause. |
