The Philippine roads would definitely be better if drivers had more consideration toward fellow drivers. Instead of being impatient and doing a counter flow on busy 2-3 lane roads, drivers should wait their turn in line. Keep intersections open. Do not take a u-turn, left turn or right turn when you are on the wrong lanes. Be mindful of pedestrian lanes, there are reasons why they made such places(pedestrians: please use the ped lanes!). Stop bribery(if you are not part of the solution, you're definitely part of the problem.) Hot-tempered persons should be banned from driving, they'll just cause a lot of trouble and traffic. Drunk people should not drive(ahhh duhhh).
Motorcycle drivers, please use your helmets(and use it wisely...You should know better that your brains aren't in your elbows.) Stop using the roads like some motocross track('coz i isn't).
Truck drivers/ owners: For the love of everything, please know the weight limit. We complain of too much pot holes and road cracks. And yet, we don't act to regulate overweight trucks(please just do your share and check your containers).
Everyone: a little discipline and consideration would bring a lot of improvement to our roads.

- for taxi drivers, they choose their passengers
- overspeeding
- overtaking, sobrang delikado
- very short patience
- beating the red light
- for jeepney drivers, they are too slow...kawawa naman ung mga nakasay na
- mainitin ang ulo
- for taxi drivers, unbelievable and unreasonable meters!
- for tricycle drivers, they are "humaharurot" and don't care if we stumble on a "lubak" or humps.
and many many more!!! |

Impatience during traffic jams. This causes accidents and even fights (some of them call each others g*g*). |

You are correct that almost all traffic does not stop for pedestrians in the cross walks . This is a serious problem , but if everyone just walked across the street at the crosswalk
with disregard to traffic ( by law they are supposed to stop) maybe they would soon get the message ! I just walk across and they may blow their horn but they do allow me to cross .
One of the worst habits I see is that drivers do not stay in their driving lane , but straddle the lines , often weaving from one lane to the other , even when there is not so much traffic .
Also motorcycles just weaving around cars to get to the head of the line at lights can be a serious problem . |

...their seeming disregard for basic traffic rules like they don't slow down on intersections...hardly any discipline at all. |

they ought to be more considerate of their fellow drivers!!! they are all in hurry so they try to overtake each other without regard for their safety. |

Methinks what needs changing is less of the attitude of Filipino drivers than that of traffic enforcers ("Kotong" cops) who should strictly enforce traffic regulations which in turn should instill discipline in motorists and drivers of public transports in our bustling metropolis, like what they do in Subic.
Why the hell, then, can't local governments follow the example of Subic?!!!
Philippines, my Philippines!!! |

i drove in the manila for 3 years and i have come to discover that i have road rage. why? cuz taxi, jeepney and especially bus drivers are such bullies. they just change lanes whenever they feel like it. and for some, traffic signs are mere suggestions to them, not something to follow. motorcycle drivers are as bad. kung saan saan lumulusot. pag tinamaan mo, kasalanan mo pa. really, you'd wonder how on earth these people got their license. |

The worst drivers in the whole world are the Filipinos. The taxi meter runs so fast, they never gave the change or if they do, it's not always exact amount, they always have excuses that they don't have change, always shortchanging the passengers. |

I have a lot of complaints about this matter but the one that really drives me crazy is when a jeepney overtakes me (usually by cutting me off rudely) then just as he overtakes me, brakes abruptly and lets some passengers off or takes passengers in. If I have the time, I always try to return the favor by cutting and stopping in front of them for as long as it can last. |

hmm I didn't encounter too many drivers with unwanted attitudes but there's one I could remember. He's serious-looking and snob, he didn't speak a single word when I asked how much it will cost from this place to another coz I wasn't really sure. I just handed my coins to him and learned that it was the exact amount. I really thought he's such an unfriendly driver.
Later on that trip, we discovered he's even a "kaskasero". That's one common problem with them anyways. The grocery plastic bags of some women passengers roll over the floor upon his breaking all of a sudden. They told him to drive slowly and carefully but he just reasoned out without even apologizing.
Next time I ride with a driver like that, I won't hesitate to go down before taking longer in the trip. |

i think i need to put a good word in for "Filipino Driver"
look how much money they make
look and compare with other places in the world
when they had the same infrastructure as other countries
they risk there lives every day in traffic
i think in general the F.D. is a good responsible driver
i have been in many places around the world
i think Phil people should show a bit more respect for them |
