What is your dream for your country?

MLK said "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

i think his biggest dream came true today.

I have a dream that my children and their children will live in a country where they will see no corruption, and where they will see a united and a disciplined nation...

but you know, it's just a dream...

I have a dream that my future children will someday be proud that they are government officials. That a day will come when a public servant is respectable and honorable. That in my lifetime, corruption will become a very isolated case rather than the rule.

That is my dream for my country, the Philippines.

In the PH, not even close. Everyone wants to be white and when you're kayumanggi [brown] (as I am), you get endless illogical, irrational, hate-provoking comments such as "I need to bleach myself" or "I live in Africa" or when I travel to the said continent that "I'll blend in (pun intended)".

I blame this to our media, actors, and actresses who do nothing else but showcase that white is beautiful and brown is still the "indio" color. I also blame this to our stupid brains that seem to be wired to think that white is beautiful.

Good thing I love my color.

CHOCO CRUNCHIES
I have a dream that the Philippines will be a better country. A country full of hope and greatness, a country of patriotic citizens.

:))

To be a nation of accountability-personal, professional; businesses, and politicians.
To be a nation that leads by example, but in global cooperation and not as a rogue.
To have our children educated in a way that makes more sense and is more pertinent in this world. This needs to include all of the core classes & computers, yes, but also life skills and responsibility..which of course must start at home. Our kids should be taught a second language from kindergarten on. We are one of the few nations that whose kids are not (at least) bilingual. Our schools still need art, pe, and music!! And they don't need vending machines with chips & pop.
To have tolerance and pride in our nation, remembering our roots as a diverse melting pot.
To have our government return to something that makes sense, is run more like a business, and with far less bureaucracy, bs , and overhead. No more free rides.
For us as a people to develop a renewed sense of community in our every day lives, not just when disaster strikes.
Today was amazing!!! =)

I dream that peace will reign and unity in this country. I'm getting tired of the wars, scandals and chaos that are happening to this country.

Hopefully we will survive it. The last time we elected a man with no experience and only personality and speeches to show the content of his character we had double digit unemployment, inflation and interest rates.

A country which is corruption free.

mang leonidas!
That we wouldn't need any government and start working together

(It's utopian, I know, that's why it's just a dream in the first place)

Doctor J
I have a dream that one day my countrymen's children and their children will have the rest of the citizens of this world as their equals. No more menial work that, no matter how decent as a way of earning a living, effectively labels our entire race to being second class, no matter how undeserved and untrue.

I dream that one day a leader will rise to this challenge, and our people will collectively muster the strength and the fortitude to support this leader who will lead us to the right path once again.

Karina
Just a simple dream that it will be respected by other countries in the world. That we will not be hated or looked down with contempt.

To secure Aceh, Guam and Spratly Island by Naval Superiority-like the body of Neptune/the body of sea-masters will be given the appellation "barangay" where they will be working like a barangay.
To establish sea-infrastructure to enable trade/military mobility between the Islands to be carried out effectively. The net-abundance of wealth allocated for the poor. Use the Filipino invention H20-powered-car conjunct to the project.
To be the first to establish sea-colonies (codename Operation Sea-Monkey), and expand superiority in the Pacific.
To expand influence up to Mexico, and Latin America as the a faithful keeper; dispute the Treaty of Utrecht; to be a vassal of the apostle of compostella.
To be known for the language.
To maintain global Filipino-niche.
To be most environmentally clean; and have beaches envy of the world [Gaurnauts Permit]. Have magnificent beach landmarks.
And most of all: To be the most selfish nation in Asia, and have the freedom to oppress foreigners. BWA HA HA HA!!

Perhaps this will become a reality in the Philippines, too. Today, not even close.

It took the US 40-odd years to reach this point starting from Martin Luther King's speech, 240+ years from the birth of America and the implementation of its Bill of Rights.

The Philippines has been struggling to rid itself of its bigoted, eitists divisive nature inherited from the Spaniards for over 400 years now. It has failed so miserably that it precisely is in the same place it was centuries ago. We still keep a population of kalulongs/slaves, hold half-caucasians on a pedestal and find absolutely nothing wrong with segregating oursleves based on skin tone and our own government's incessant need to supress the basic human rights of its own citizens for its own gain.
