What is your fondest memory of childhood in Singapore?

I suppose you are asking of the memories we have in Singapore only and not in overall.

I live in Singapore throughout my entire childhood. The fondest memory will be able to eat and drink whatever I want and buy stuff whenever and whatever I want, not worrying about money issue. Get away with mischief and playing schoole games like zero-point, five stones, scrabbles with good friends.

Life was simple and sweet then. KFC used to be a restaurant where you sit on cushion seats and use metal knife and fork to eat the chicken. Still remember how delicious and heavenly they tasted back then. Even the iced lemon tea from Mcdonalds was lovely back then.

As we grow up, we meet up with the other family members much lesser as everyone is busy and only gather on big ocassions.

playing with friends at playgrounds/void decks.
the ice-cream man ringing his bell, a sign that treats are only a few cents away.

I was staying in the Eunos kampong area during my childhood. I love those times where the time stood still. Everyday after school and homework, I would play with my kampong buddies i.e. played marbles, catching, hide and seek, shooting with a self-made wood pistol, flying kites, fishing and lots more. It is such a waste that there are no more kampongs in Singapore. How I wish that I can bring back the old days again!

Attap houses, with lots of space around for us kids to play! Carey Road/Havelock Road/Bukit Ho Swee area :-) Kampong, nearby Chinese temple (still stands today), noodle manufacturing factory, factory for processing duck (slaughter, cleaning; before selling them at the local markets) and opium dens (no joke!).
* Thanks for bringing back the memories :-)

Piles of holiday assignments given by horrible teachers during primary school... And that kept me from going overseas for 2 consecutive years during school holidays.

When I stayed at the Shangrila hotel, played golf on their mini course, and smoked a cigar and had a beer with my dad when I was 8.
