Special ? I think unique is a better description.
Retired at age 40 and living in paradise in the Philippines.
No alarm clock, no job and enough money comming in to live a very comfortable livefstyle for my wife and family ,complete with a driver and a maid. ! Been living the good life the past 6 years and for the forseeable future.

Not Bad for a High School dropout that wasn't going to amount to anything. lol I'm retired and living comfortably in paradise and my peers are all wotking until they are at least 65.

In my parents eyes I am a crazy nut who moved from a free democratic country to a one that is the worst place on earth.

As for my eyes, I think I am pretty damned special and treat myself as such.

With those two in mind, of course I wouldn't move to a horrid country.

Well, my parents didn't think much of me, but then they were alcoholics so, I knew not to listen to them. I listened to a school counselor who said I was highly intelligent and could be anything I wanted to be, so I joined the military and they taught me to photograph things. I was a Combat/medical/Forensic Photographer and there were not many of those in the military, let alone women ones, like I was, particularly in a combat zone like Vietnam. I then went to University and got my degree in Speech and Communication, I am still working on my degree in Sociology and Fine Arts and Culinary Arts.

Jim, please come home, you are loved and special! You said the most beautiful words I could have heard and that was that no where compares to the good old US of A!

Lox, keep in mind that this is America and we are allowed to worship as we please. Whether you choose to believe or not, it is not fair of you to put down others beliefs. I happen to believe there is a supreme being in all of us. I happen to believe that I am blessed. Even more so because the storm here in the Midwest flooded many homes and left thousands without power as well as many cars have been crushed by falling trees and nothing of that sort has happened to us (my fiance and myself).

only people are that self centered to believe not only that if there is a god, he looks human, and created us after himself.. but also! they believe this god of theirs created the universe! haha!
