Heres an example of a list of what to pack and wear for a long haul flight (cold/air con) to Thailand (hot and humid)
What to Wear on:
Long sleeve t-shirt
Singlet or cap sleeve t-shirt with built in t-shirt bra (soft, no underwire)
Long breathable cotton pants or yoga-style exercise pants with soft waist (easier to manouvre in tiny toilet cubicles), or long skirt.
Comfy underwear
Sandals (for hot Thai airport exit)
Refreshing panty liner (saves changing into clean underwear for next day until you get to a hotel)
Also- don't wear make-up or you'll spend your holidays with pimples from blocked pores.
What to Take in Carry-On:
Name/ Thai Directions to your pre-booked hotel
Cleansing/refreshing face wash wipes (Natio wipes are better; good idea due to liquid restrictions)
Air conditioner filter cover for A/C vent in plane (saves you getting a cold & jet lag)
Sunscreen with insect repellent (for application on arrival)
Warm Socks (incase its cold on the plane)
Multi-vitamins, high in Vit B (for energy when you arrive)
Ear plugs
Eye-mask
Tissues infused with lavender oil (to help you sleep on the plane without sleeping tablets)
Drowsy cold and flu tablets (2) to take when you wish to sleep (helps clear your ears for cabin pressure and sleep)
Small tub of beeswax lip gloss (keeps your lips from chapping and doubles as a hair wax for styling your do before getting off the plane)
Small hair comb
Dental floss and sml mouthwash
Malaria tablets
Spare underwear, contact solution, itinerary, prescription pills (incase you lose your luggage)
Plus dont forget: A Good Book and padlocks on all your luggage |

Jeans, t-shirt. Keep it comfy and simple. Bring a sweatshirt too. If you plan on sleeping, it will be easier putting on a sweatshirt than grabbing a blanket. Nothing is worse than being uncomfortable on a long flight. |

Anything comfy - loose light pants and baggy tees would be great. Do bring a sweater as it does get cold in the plane.
I always bring a pair of ear plugs to cut out the noise and a small pillow with me. Normally I would get a window seat for long haul flights in the night.
Stuff the pillow into the window and sleep, window seat has less disturbance as others wont interrupt your sleep getting in and out of the seats.
If you wear contact lens remember to bring a case with the solution already inside so you can just remove the lens when you are about to sleep. |

Combats you can turn into shorts, light shirt, take a fleece (nice pillow).. if you have a brain get early and ask for the window emergency exit seats so can stretch out.
Oh and tips.
When get to thailand dont book a taxi inside go outside and insist on the meter... always meter or get fleeced as silly tourist.
Avoid tuk tuks unless want to be taken around loads of silly tourisit shops.
ONLY EVER BOOK VIP BUSSES (IE COACHES) FROM OFFICIAL THAI COACH/BUS TERMINALS NEVER TAT TOURIST PLACES.
GET A CAMEL PACK BAG BEFORE YOU GO WITH AI GAP AT BACK (STICK IN FREESER OVER NIGHT)
Wise folk only book forst two nights then go down the road somewhere cheaper

Definatly something with a elastic waste. Something light on the top of you and bring a jacket/blanket in case you find it cold in the plane. |

I would wear a loose cotton top with either loose fitting comfy linen trousers or a long cotton skirt. Don't wear anything too tight and wear flat sandals/birkenstocks that you can just kick off on the plane. I nomally put a change of top in my flight bag so I can freshen up on the plane or in arrivals while you are waiting for the luggage to come on to the carousel. |

something comfortable, and warm for the flight because they can usually get chilly and make sure you are wearing something suitable for a hot climate underneath!

wear what is comfortable and remember, it'll be hot when you get there so you don't really want any jumpers or anything too warm. wear shoes that won't be too difficult to take off. most airlines, if not all, supply blankets and you can always ask for another. only 3 months and i'll be following you. can't wait.... |

Light trousers and a t-shirt.
Take a thin knit jumper and a pashmina / small blaket with you, incase it gets chilly on the plane.
Have a great time!
Safe journey :) |

For long flights I like to wear either yoga pants, teeshirt, or a sundress (especially if I am heading somewhere hot). I always have a sweater for if it gets cold on the plane and very comfortable shoes that I can get on and off easily. Remember in the airport before take off and at customs after, you are going to have to be standing a lot.
And I usually have a change of clothes because I have had my luggage delayed a few times, plus on a long flight you may feel yucky and want to change. This is why I also like to bring wet whipes or baby whipes, you can have a bit of a sponge bath. |

Jeans and Layers
Jeans are comfy enough to sit or sleep in, so in the event you want to kick your feet up, wear shoes that can slip on and off.
As for the layers, wear a comfy t-shirt with a sweatshirt or jacket. Sometimes planes are too hot, and sometimes they're quite frigid. Don't be scared to ask for that blanket and pillow either!
Steer clear of pajamas. Just because you're going to be there a whlie does not mean not you're in public!!! |

hmmm, where are you coming from -- the usa to japan?
wear something comfortable but not too grubby. Bring a toothbrush and tiny tube of tooth paste. Bring a tiny bottle of spray cologne. Maybe a change of shirt....when do you travel?
I asked alot of questions, email me...
PS It will be cold in the plane....and the taxi at the airport will be airconditioned, advice contrary to the above |
