What do you prefer to buy? Food? Clothes? Books? Drinks? Accessories? Electronics? 1000 Pesos can buy you a lot here. If you're only one person or no more that 3, it's enough to have a good time. You can go eat at the many hamburger food chains scattered nationwide. For as low as 69 pesos you can sample budget meals located at the basements of major malls.
Shoes you can buy at cheap prices. Original DVDs, cds, books, etc. Got a car? Fuel prices are so high, it's a waste to spend 1000 pesos on gasoline when you get only 26 liters or so. Still, that's enough to go on the countryside.
If all you're going to do is buy food at McDonald's, 1000 pesos is defintely enough. So many things you can do with your money, just make sure you spend it wisely. |

BUT
this could already be the money a poor family of four need to be able to eat twice a day for 10 days. A hard fact but a reality among the poor folks who have no source of income staying in a high cost of living metropolis. |
