A citizenship in the United States. It's a great opportunity to live in the U.S. because of the jobs, education & lifestyle. I was born in the Philippines, then my family moved to the United States when I was 4 years old & got my citizenship. Of course i love the Philippines, it's my home town, but I grew up in the U.S. & i love the lifestyle here. I was able to finish college, now I have a College Degree, I work a great job & make good money. I love the lifestyle in the U.S. & will never think of living back in the Philippines, to visit maybe, but can't live there.

Better and equal job opportunities. While there is perceived discrimination here in Canada for lack Canadian experience or Canadian education but one can still get a good break if he is resourceful enough. In the Philippines, you need political connections to get hired or promoted. In Canada you just have to work hard and get training upgrades which are easily available, no political connections required. In Philippine streets, drivers and pedestrians often violate traffic rules (They follow the 11th Commandment "Thou shalt not get caught"). This is a good reason why many Pinoys fail in Canadian driver road test even if they have been driving in the Philippines for more than 10 years. Canadian Electricity is cheaper than Philippine electricity. Philippine electricity is one of Asia's most expensive.

well that was the same question of Harvey H.,isn't it?have you read the article in the local newspaper? I didn't,but I heard it on the news and he is right, all the people he mentioned in his e-mail will not make the our country a better place, but that won't be my reaon to leave the philippines, although we are facing hardships,no matter what I won't leave, except when our country will be erase from the map because of flood due to global warming, then I have no choice.

When I do say "I Do" would be my first reason of leaving the country to be with my partner and to support him as a wife would.

But being with a foreign-bf doesn't necessarily mean I don't have to chase my own dreams. I will work too and grow with him.

Come retirement, I'll pursuade him to settle in the Philippines where we could enjoy our retirement -- blue skies, the sun, the sea, good food, friendly faces, and exploring the islands with its powdery white sand between our toes.
