hmmm
I would ask her that when I order pancit palabok, she should give me a hefty serving, complete with prawns and generous sauce...
hehehe, kiddin.
It really depends on her status... some students work to gain experience and what they get is spent as "gimik money". Some to buy things, in this way they feel good and proud that they can spend for themselves.
Some are working students who are deserving of our admiration because of their determination to pursue their studies inspite of financial concerns. |

I think you should be yourself and don't live your life based on what others might see or think about you. People can be judgmental in some extent. But what is harder is if you judge yourself before others do. You should know yourself way better than them.
Young people who works in fast foods etc. doesn't mean they are poor. Youngsters likes to gain the experience and they know they will definetely teach them something worthy that they can use all throughout their lives. |

what??!!! why do you have that feeling? are your embarrassed? most teenagers in the US work as early as they reach the age of 16, and you???
as a teenager, it's an honor for me to manage own money from my own efforts...
dude, you need some experience... |

The first question you should ask yourself is "Do I really need it?" or "Do I need to do this?".
If you don't need it or don't need to do it, then I say DON'T.
Please, just concentrate on your studies and enjoy your life. You're lucky you don't need to be a working student to support yourself and your studies like what other people are doing. I tell you, once you have responsibilities all you will do is reminisce about your younger years and tell yourself "those were the days!".
If "you would like to know how it feels to work", don't worry, you'll have plenty of time to experience that once you graduate from college. For now, I advise that you concentrate on your real work: to be a teenager, to be a student, attend school, and do homework. Yeah, that's your job. |

what would you do if you see your schoolmate working at redribbon?
>i'll approach her and talk about the work...
would you think she needs money or something?
>maybe yes, maybe no...maybe she just wants extra money because christmas is near...or just for experience.. |

I can't imagine working if you don't need to. When I no longer needed to I stopped.
If you take the job someone that really needs it to stay in school might miss out. |

It's really nice to work. I am BS BA student and I need experience working in any business firm. I think working students are great because they don't depend on their parents salary.
It seems that you care what other people will think about you. |

I don't see anything wrong with that. It is one way of showing your other side. You being a hard working person and that is you not afraid to work even if you can afford not too.
As long as you are happy with what you are doing... GO for it.

What's wrong with working at Red Ribbon? It's an honest living and better than prostituting your body or mugging someone. If I see a former classmate, I'd say "Hi! How are you?" and then move on with my chocolate cake. |

if i have a schoolmate working for red ribbon, I'll say "hi"
I mean there's nothing wrong with it, and it also means that he/she is a responsible individual, knows how to value time |

if i didn't know that schoolmate's situation, i personally would be shocked at first because i did come from a school that actually expects its graduates to be either professionals or entrepreneurs.
but in your case, you just wanted to know how it feels to work... that's great, but not a lot of people will look at it that way unless you tell them so. |

I would ask her if they could pass employee discount to friends. She probably needs the money, and there is nothing wrong with having a decent job. Working for a living gives one the great feeling of being able to support himself or herself, much better than relying on handouts. |

i know how you feel.
i tried applying to mcdo before..
but got rejected. it was my fault though.

and then,
i applied at infonxx (call center)
but was turned-down again,
because they want full time workers.
damn. are they expecting me to quit school?
duh. as if i'd do that. haha. |
