I don't know what to do either because I am in a relationship with a guy who smells so bad. Actually, it is his breath but the stink is so overpowering. :( I have never said anything to him because I have been afraid of hurting his feelings. I have hinted but it isn't working. Basically, I hold my breath a bit. Also, when I know I am going to be seeing him, I lightly rub some great smelling lotion on my philtrum so I can focus on that smell rather than his. This is sad, I know but I do love him even if he smells like rot. :(

Btw, in case anyone is wondering, the philtrum is that groove under your nose and above your upper lip. ;)

Either ask them to shower more, or if thats too straightforward, offer to shower with them (but don't say its because they stink..). Personally.. i tell my husband when he stinks, i don't want to deal with a nasty smelling person, and our shower talks are the best! No distractions.

I'd tell him, as tactfully as possible. Better that he knows than continue to embarrass himself.

Wrap up a bar of scented soap and some deoderant in a nice package and include a short note. "You smell so good we are close and when you are fresh out of the shower with that clean manly smell, it makes me warm all over."
Be very positive, nothing negative. If he really cares for you. he will take the hint. If not???

Truth hurts & unfortunately in this case, there's no other way 'round it but to "come clean" (pun intended, lol)
Be honest, tell them like it is, nicely... hope he/ she'll heed your advise and do something 'bout it.

I'd tell him/her to go shower. If that didn't help I'd make him/her go shower. As a last resort I'd tell him/her to sod off.

Depends on how close we are.If were very close, id tell him...if not id stop seeing him.

Yes...I had to do that once...it sucked, but hey, why should my nose, (and everyone else's) suffer. It got so bad I chain smoked in a hotel room (business trip) to kill the odor...not that the smoke was a nice smell, but trust me it was definitely better. So I had to tell this person...and it wasn't easy either because this person was VERY sensitive emotionally.
Be nice, but be honest.

Erm once a while human will sure sweat & smells a bit esp. during hot seasons. But if they smell all the time.
If it's the mouth ordor - give 'em mints/chewing gums
If it's the body ordor - deodorant, perfume or hint it's time to shower.

I have to laugh at Austin's answer. "Spray him with oust" LOL that's funny. Ok anyway, yes I would tell him, if I really care about him I would'nt want other people to smell him like that. Yes definately tell him but in a nice way.
