Haha! It depends on how my friend did it. I'll just tell my friend about what s/he did and how it affected me. After that, I might not become more open to my friend like before or I might stay away if the betrayal was over the edge. I might give a greeting or two but only up to there. Trust is very important to me.

Well, you teach people how to treat you, so he likely thinks it is OK to walk all over you! How is that working for you? You need to tell this person that your trust was betrayed and that you no longer wish to be friends, if that is how you feel.

If this was a relationship that I wanted to save, I would allow the person to slowly earn back trust over a long period of time.

You already gave them a good comment. And it's ok to be civil to each other, just don't give them the opportunity to betray you again. Something I heard once, I believe in: "when people show you who they are....believe them"

It's a subtle way of telling the person that s/he has let me down and that the loss isn't mine.

Tell the person upfront that you don't trust him anymore... stay away from that person.

you should stick to the adage "Mabait akong kaibigan, wala akong kwentang kaaway." Which simply means, do not even bother to give a single drop of attention to those who betrayed you. They will be just added toxins in your body and cancer cells aren't good...smile &laugh often :o) only think of those who you trust and who trust you. That's the only thing you will want to nurture.

Being a woman, it is only natural that I would give vent to my feelings of hurt and pain. And that translate to verbal litanies or expletives. For good measure, I will avoid the person like a plague.

I don't know if I can still find it in my heart to trust the person again. This hasn't happened to me yet but to imagine it happening to me...
