Koreans can be rude and nasty everywhere so it is not just in Manila but it is probably worse there because they feel superior due to their wealth.
Like all generalizations the opposite can always be found. Sure there are many sweet, wonderful polite Koreans but Koreans "in general " do seem obnoxious abroad .
I think they are incredibly repressed in their own country which sends them over the edge in other countries especially when they drunk and not accountable to their own society members
A friend pointed out Korea is between China and Japan both of which invaded and conquered it many times. He asked "Wouldn't you be paranoid too"
They are a troubled people forced to conform at home and at work to a degree unimaginble in the rest of the world. They can snap under the tension - like the Virginia Tech killer of 32 students - or get drunk or get angry and take it out on non - Koreans |

i don't want to generalize but some koreans have superiority complex...
also, they are everywhere! most hotels and resorts have korean guests and they can be quite loud and some are downright rude.... and these hoteliers are complaining that although they would have high occupancy when koreans are in-house, their food and beverage revenue suffers because koreans can be tight-fisted... they wanted the cheapest in everything!
but some koreans are nice. i even have korean friends whom i met in college. |

THEY DON'T ACT LIKE A GOOD GUEST THEY ARE ABUSIVE AND DON'T KNOW HOW TO COMMUNICATE AND THINK THAT FILIPINOS JUST WANT THEIR MONEY AND THEY KEEP TO THEMSELVES INSTEAD OF LEARNING TO SOCIALIZE WITH THE NATIVES. |

It seems the commonality here they could be rowdy when intoxicated. I saw in ABS-CBN news years ago one Korean causing a ruckus in a bar & demanding for the officer's name who made his arrest ... the nerve of him! |

Hidden korean mafia especially in Quezon City.
They trying to compete with the Chinese here.
They think Filipinos are addicted to their dramas.
just my opinion. |

Koreans are everywhere here nowadays because they want to invest here even in the crater of Taal Volcano! And if you happen to hear a noisy group, rest assured, they're the ones... in public place, in the bank, in eateries, in the campus. Oh, they're here, there and everywhere....... |

The question is "what's wrong with Koreans all over the world" ... |

SOME are disliked because:
1. they run away without paying apartment/house rental
2. they are unsanitary
3. they spit in their bowls or glasses after eating at fastfood chains or restaurants
4. they are rude or discourteous
Some Koreans are also not liked outside Manila. |

Humm, they are all over the place and have their own world anyway, I don't think they are not causing trouble though. |

Koreans are just the wierdest thing in college. I have lots of Korean schoolmates and they were like so annoying and I cant understand what they're saying coz their English is very awful. And there are times that they were chanting "aja" and "De Haminguk" with matching claps. They are quite noisy actually. But those are just few of them, they have positive aspects as well like they're nice, friendly, courteous, polite, full of determination, etc. |

Isn't this a racist question? |

Well, for one, there's just so many of them that one can't help but find a flaw one way or another. I mean shucks, they're EVERYWHERE! In our schools, our bars, our malls... Sheesh, you'd think they were trying to take over the Philippines or something. :D |

They just feel like they are not at home. |

Nothing wrong with them. I live in Tagaytay, and have many Koreans renting in our subdivision. They are always courteous and we get along with them.
Let's turn this around then. What's wrong with the BI personnel at the airport extorting money from Korean tourists (in todays paper), and with a kleptomaniac for a Philippine ambassador in Korea? |
