Since you're coming from Saudi, maybe they will appreciate Arabian kifaya or the traditional yashmagh scarf and niqaab veil or hijab scarf. Just something different from what is commonly brougth home as pasalubong, I think, would be great. The price doesn't really matter. It's the thought that counts. Di ba? (Right?) |

I really don't expect anything at all but I usually get T-shirts, perfume, chocolates, shampoo, and soap. The only thing I ever really asked for was a cellphone (from my kuya), which I got; and a bottle of real maple syrup (from my kuya also), which I have yet to get. |

none. i am serious
call me pasaway or kuripot...but i don't just as they don't expect anything from me. call me anything but i don't like to be stereotyped that eversince leaving to & fro...either no one knows that i'm coming or leaving or do not bother at all. i just come as is.... it will be on my discretion whether i should give anything...but usually no one expects. (cuz am not the typical who bothers however not bcoz i don't care but it is more of taking it without pressures. if no budget for extra pasalubong, i simply do not put pressure on me.)
nothing against anyone, its not just me. |

Should i say, What pasulubong they expect from me :-), well, in my case i would ask them what pasulubong they wanted me to buy for them. because, if i buy something for them and they won't like it, it is as if i didn't give them anything but, if i know exactly what they wanted, they will be happy about it. |

Expect nothing.
Cellphone cost around $100.
NIke shoes is another $100
laptop is $600 and i am talking about a cheap one.
FYI:
we do not pick money from trees so stop expecting that a balikbayan would give you something, and if he/she does be thankful.
wake up and think about it.take this as another perspective. |
