The bible says yes. However, in reality, it does not apply. Like giving your other cheek etc. etc. etc. People nowadays don't just stand and wait for the stone to start hitting them. At the first sight of someone picking up a stone with the intention of throwing it at you, you either pick up a stone yourself or run for your life.

Step to the side so the stone will not hit you. Or you could swing batter batter batter.......

i think you shouldn't really because if you translate it to the most deeper meaning it means "If someone do you good, thros them back the good thing he/she did for you" because the saying is "Pag binato ka ng bato, batuhin mo ng tinapay" it's like a hyperbolé or a personification.... (i think)

i hope i (kinda) helped........

Catch the stones and sue them in court. Cant afford to waste bread considering the high cost of gasoline and living expenses.

Purple Tactics
No, you're supposed to call the friggin cops so you can throw their butts into prison.

If someone thew a stone at me, it had better be a diamond!
seriously, it speaks of the classic Filipino mentality of returning ill-treatment with kindness.

Barrio Lass
YES, you are SUPPOSED to throw them bread, but you may not. It's a matter of choice. Strictly, Biblically speaking, you have to throw them brea if they throw you a stone and orgiv them seventy times seven but wake up man, it isn't realistic, only GOD can do that. As humans, it is part of our nature to reciprocate... if someone throws you a stone, gather those stones, approach him or her carefully an talk about it. Lay all cards on the table, an if it still doesn't work, well, just forget that person an live as if he or she nevr exists...

If it is a literal situation, I would naturally duck and seek cover.

But if it is figurative, I would probably return good to what was bad that was hurled at me, in obeissance to the instructions of my Lord.

"God! Thy will is hard! But you hold every card!"

The answer depends on what you believe in.

If you believe in God, He made you & He gave you an intellect, common sense & the moral law, you should know what to do, depending on the situation.

If you believe Darwin, you know "survival of the fittest", then you get a bigger stone & pound the other guy.

Throw the stones back and make sure you hit them where it hurts the most.
