When travelling around the philippines will people respect me?

I work for an organization that spent about $2.8M into the Philippines in 2006 and a little bit more by the end of this year, by way of programs and projects in education and healthcare.

would they accept my fuschia colored hair?

Simply, if you show respect to people they will also show respect to you.
The colour of your hair shouldn't matter.

WELL here are some facts so please try to digest the following:
1/ the money, that the organisation you work for and gives out, (and you happen to mention this every other week) is NOT and I repeat NOT yours. It was probably donated both by ordinary Americans and FilAms,

2/ you are not doing the work as a volunteer but are actually being paid to do it. So your not even donating your time,

3/ the $2.8 million that you have brought up on a few occasions only equates to $0.05 per (poor) person,

we Filipinos will accept you whatever hair or skin color you have, we are not racists. Filipinos are very friendly and hospitable.

It's not your hair that would determine if we will respect you or not. And it's not your money either. Respect is earned so if you earn (deserve) it, you got it!

Frontal Lobe
This is the second time you brag so much about $ pouring in that country - the money that's not even yours. Worst, this question isn't bit related to your sissy hairdo.

But I do know what you are up to. You obviously look down on Filipinos especially on the elite. I just couldn't understand how you get yourself involved in that organization.

"When travelling around the Philippines will people respect and accept me in my fuchsia colored hair if they knew I carried around $2.8M for them?" . This is your actual question without being diplomatically correct. I am sorry but you are exposed.

bAbY_Gurl26^
what´s with the organization thing?? u´ve been saying that for like FOREVER, and what does that got to do with ur fuschia colored mane?? GO get a life first!

luosechi 駱士基
The Filipinos are understanding and friendly people and certainly will not let you know what they think of you, but most foreigners like me will think that you're some kind of a fair-ry. Why don't you shave and look like a Buddhist monk?

And I'd have to look fuchsia up in the dictionary because I recognise the basic 8 colors.

BOM CHIKA WAH WAH
you always worry too much.pinoys are very friendly.they will respect you as long you will respect them too.

Goodluck!

Drew
that depends, are you going to run around naked and cuss at people, give them the finger and make fun of ugly children? if you answered yes then the answer to your question is no. if you handle yourself decently, and judging by the fact that you are asking this question, you probably will, you should be fine. and if someone disrespects you, just grab your nuts, flip em the bird, and tell them to piss off...

Yes, if you respect them they also respect you. Filpanos are friendly &don't think like gangs are going to beat you up

If filipinos are respectfull and not racist, why someone have colonial mentality and crab mentality...

For me i think those attitudes are kind of racist! So Well, you must pick this as the best answer!

Chez
it doesnt matter if you have a violet hair color as long as you have respectable personality. Though i wouldnt give them 100% of my trust. They are still human, and they are capable of doing some things that you can imagine.

We are mixed raced here not pure filipino.

Leander
They'll respect you but they won't worship you. As long as you show respect and you dress respectable then you will be respected. I don't know if having a fuschia hair is respectable.

we'd still look at you, but not in a bad way, just wondering about the fuschia... but thanks anyway for helping the Philippines.
what matters most is not the looks really, but the heart.

I'll respect you for coming out and having a fuschia hair.

people in the Philippines are respectful and Gay's are well accepted.

disciplinarian
LOL! they will still accept you even if you have green hair.

Felicity???
It doesn't really matter what the color of your hair, eyes, skin, etc. or where you're working and living as long as you know how to respect the people first then definitely they will do the same thing to you. <*-*>

you dont have to worry about that because filipinos are hospitable and courteous. and about your hair, no need to worry because filipinos color their hair also like red, blue etc.

Its your time to read between the lines but most of them are spot on. I strongly agree with Inday and 2py.

Your hair will not matter.

raine
Filipinos are generally hospitable but they also enjoy joking around. They will surely comment something about your hair maybe in front of you but most probably behind your back .

Sure, you will be accepted.

Seriously folks, in my years of work, I have still to meet a single poor pinoy (and there are 60+ million in the country) who doesn't appreciate our earnest work to improve their welfare.

I can't say the same for how they consider their upper "class" brethren who look through the poor as if they weren't there.
Some of them are here, look above me. They would rather waste their time insulting me instead of fixing their problems. Can you get any worse than that?
