When was the last time you made "ligo sa ulan"???

*Bathing in the rain.

Kids here in the US don't seem to do this. I know this is fairly common in the Philippines. Wanna share your memories. Thank you.

hehe! i love this, do it every chance i get, and i don't care if i'm in my late 20s, gusto ko lang maligo sa ulan!

Last time i played in the rain was May 24, 2007. There was a steady downpour of rain, no wind to give me chills. Took my 2 dogs out for a walk in the rain and we chased each other up and down the street in our subdivision for over an hour. Some people would walk past, adults with their umbrellas and kids bathing in the rain who thought it was funny for a grown-up like me to be frolicking amidst clear rain puddles.

Second to the last time i went walking in the rain was April 5, 2007 while exploring Malapascua Island in Cebu with my boyfriend. He was expecting me to run for cover but i just looked up and felt the sweet rainfall. He was surprised it was warm on the skin. I felt my senses come alive, communing with nature like that.

I have fond memories of being caught in lovely rainfalls, as well as disastrous ones (like bagyo and baha comes to mind) but still memorable once you find the funny side of the situation.

if you do that in america, you'll probably freeze to death. the last time i did that here would be more than twenty years ago because they said it was the best cure for "bungang singot."

Black Hat
Just last month (May), I was on vacation in Iloilo, Philippines when my 5 year old daughter wants me to join her in the rain :-)

The next day it didn't rain and she keeps on shouting "Ulan! Ulan! Ulan!" / "Rain! Rain! Rain" so funny it didn't rain for a week.

Sometime in the 1980s, while at the same time (you won't believe it), bathing while raining in a private pool in Pansol, Laguna. The natural hot water was coming from a nearby mountain.

the last time was May 2004, went to the province for a family reunion and the next day we were on the beach with the whole family and it rained so hard and we all chased each other (me & 15+ first cousins) it was so much fun.

i go loony
I like that "tampisaw" thing a lot even at this old age of mine The first and last was 20 years back with my cousins when I had a vacation in Pangasinan. I liked the experience and I longed for it after that but the rainfall in my hometown (Baguio) is as cold as making you sick once you do it..

Oh gosh how much I love doing this! My last time was when I was 9 years old or younger. My family was still in the province. I remember my mom let me bathe in the rain...though I was scared of the thunder I still enjoyed running in our cornfields and shaking those tree branches around the house and feeling the cold rainwater on my skin. Sigh. I miss my mom.

I was 12 when I got here in Manila. It rained on my way home and unfortunately I had no umbrella with me but the "probinsiyana" me just continued walking my way home. How cool was that? But my aunt was like "What???" when she saw me. LOL

In grade school my buddies and I used to play basketball in the pouring rain. I might have been the shortest then, but being short has its advantages. When it rains you're the last person to get wet.

Purple Tactics
It was back in 99, when a storm came without warning and froze the Las Pinas traffic to a standstill. I had to walk around 20 km. along the Zapote road in the rain and water just below my knees with my school uniform on. Not the most pleasant of experiences, but I get a laugh everytime I think of it.
