When you barbecue, Pinoy-style, do you want it rare, medium or well-done?

Hope I'm not too late! At home, we always like it well-done. I only eat meat in medium rare in sosyal restaurants, lol. Gotta experience being sosyal once in a while. ;-)

If Pinoy Style it's gonna be Well-done.. It's ok with me but I also like Medium while my beau loves it medium rare. Your question is making me crave for a steak. (kidding aside). <*-*>

Here in the Philippines, I would prefer it to be well-done Inday dahling. To be honest, we aren't sure how all pigsare bred here since we still have this "kanin baboy" practice circulating over here. So my best & safest bet is to have it cooked thoroughly.

Personally, I like it rare with a charred outside ~ but that's not Pinoy-style; is it? The way it comes to me is very dark, and with the consistency of the sole of my shoe. Add to this some burnt-on stuff which could be made into gravy but isn't, and rock hard rice.

In case there is a reader who doesn't understand about the rice, the measurements are like this:
USA: 2 cups water, 1 cup rice.
Taiwan:1 1/2 cups water, 1 cup rice.
Philippines: 1 cup water, 1 cup rice.

I think that with pork and chicken you would be safer having it well done.
With beef any where between medium and well done suits me

for steaks its rare (if the meat is really nice and tender) to medium. High heat, quick grilling would just be perfect.
for Pork and chicken it should be well done, by low heat and long grilling time.

I want it medium well (between medium and well-done). I like the meat to be tender and juicy but medium has reddish portions not appealing to me, while well-done is rubbery tough and has lost most of the flavor. It must be adequately marinated because I don't want to put sauce on it during and after cooking.

well, my dad and i like ours medium, but the rest of my family like it well-done, but it depends on each person whether they like rare, medium, or well-done.... sometimes, well-done is just too hard... medium is juicy and soft, so it's good...

Depends on the type of meat, okay, the secret in doing barbeque is, cook it first on a rare style using the "oven", then after that to the "charcoal".

Well, I preferred medium-rare as long as no fresh blood present.

All meats should be well done because of various parasites that can be transmitted, especially pork. One time in Cebu, I bought this long barracuda from the 'fish lady', after cutting it I found living parasitic worms all through the flesh. . . .the cat had a few great dinner days
