If the rules are ridiculous, for example,
"Cannot buy that, why must wear that jeans, so tight at the bottom",
then I'll take the family's album out, show them their pics, and go,
"Then what's this? Bell bottom all? Trend right? So I hope you understand". And they'll shut up. Nyehehehe.
If its something rather subjective,
"No, you are not allowed to go out with your friends this weekend!", I'll usually give in when I feel that they have a point. But if i disagree, I kinda just, go out. nyehehehe. |

"Okay"...meekly, head hung down.....lol!
Mom & Dad never bothered with what I wear, hence all the fashion and hairstyle disasters when I was younger. They were concerned (overly so, I'd say) with who I spend time/go out with.
It was very stressful asking for permission to go out with friends. "Who are you going out with?".. "Why do you have to go?".. " Where are you going?".."How are you getting there?".."How are you coming back?".."What time are you going?".."What time are you coming back?".."What are your friends' telephone nos?".."Give me photocopies of your friends' IC"..(just kidding on the last one!)

There wasn't much to say in disagreement back then. I'd just go off to my room and listen to my rock records or riff away at my electric guitar. As far as fashion went, yeah---they tensely held their breath at my Ozzy concert "baseball style" jersey shirts, but they're quite tame as compared to what's out there today.
I learned fast the art of diplomacy and compromise---and it got me much farther along than rebelling against them. |

As long as I live in this ground of Liberty
And stay in a country that’s democratize
I will do and say—what I’ve intended to do and say
People; which include my parents can only give me advice & share their point of view
Still coming up to conclude is solely my decision
I am an Individualist,
I am never to be conquered
But am here to conquer
