Where can we go for a romantic getaway in the Phillipines? |
I'm planning for a 3D/2N getaway for me and my BF for our anniversary when I get home in September. It'll be a Friday to Sunday thing.
Somewhere relatively peaceful, beautiful and not boring, but won't rob me blind!
I am thinking about going to Puerto Gallera, Puerto Pricesa, Boracay, Vigan, Bohol or Corregidor. Been trying to google travel destinations in Philippines, but most of the government related (.gov.ph) sites are down, so I couldn't take a look at the WOW Philippines homepage.
Can you give me sites I can access? I'm in Australia btw.
Appreciate inputs! Additional Details Thanks for the all those who replied with inputs...
I am veering towards Bora, Bohol or Palawan. But I am also thinking about Guimaras, been there once, and I quite enjoyed it, even more than Bora, I think that wouldn't be too crowded plus the boats are bigger! Anyone been to Guimaras lately?
I did get one answer that was a bit too rude. I hope people like that stops posting answers just to get the points. |

There are plenty of romantic destinations in the Philippines.
Someone already mentioned that it will probably still be raining in September, but you might get lucky.
For websites I can suggest a few tricks using the Google search engine. When you type in "resorts in the Philippines" or whatever, also put in the word "yoga" or "Hawaiian Webmaster". There are a lot of good websites but all the "hotels to go" type of sites are on the first few pages. The two keywords I just listed should get you past all those.
Bohol is being called the new Boracay. There are a lot of unique things to do on that island.
But, I would actually recommend the town of Taal for a romantic getaway. Where else can you see the world's smallest volcano, and even rent a boat to cruise out for a closer look? This would put you right down the road from Tagaytay which has some great restaurants and entertainment options, rain or shine. There is also a resort called "Wuthering Heights" about an hour drive from there on the ocean. You would be only be 2 hours or less away from the airport in Manila so you won't spend have your vacation just getting there and back. If you come during a tsunami it is completely possible to get stuck in some regional airport, or seaport waiting on the ferry.
All of the previous answers look great so I am just trying to recommend a place that we enjoy that has not yet been mentioned. |

hi there, you can go to el nido, palawan. you can be alone with your beau in one of the islands. like 7 commando island. then set a merienda/dinner in big laggoon. snorkle or kayak to small laggoons and secret laggoon in minoloc islands. gosh, you'll never run out of island to visit. every isle is so unique and virgin.. no commercialized thingies. you can rent a simple cottage on one of the local resorts. enjoy!

September is within typhoon season so you may want to consider destinations that are not on the typhoon belt. Cancelled flights and getting stranded are no fun.
Palawan is always, hands down, a good, romantic destination. Try Lagen Island.
Vigan/Pagudpud - great beaches plus a bit of history. That would make a good, balanced, romantic weekend.
Bohol - great diving sites, the chocolate hills, tarsier sanctuary, Loboc river. A weekend will probably be not enough.
Puerto Galera and Boracay are good mainly for partying. Both are overcommercialized, but it'll be quieter in September.
Guimaras is beautiful, if a bit more rustic compared to Boracay or Palawan in terms of accommodations and facilities. If you're a mango nut (like I am lol) then you'll love the place.
If both of you are into diving, consider Apo Island in ******. It's quiet and peaceful, and the reef is gorgeous. |

I think for a romantic getaway, I'll choose either Bohol or Palawan because they say that these places or beaches are mostly preferred for couples or for honeymoons compared to Boracay which is better when you are with your friends coz of the parties, bars and night outs. |

I searched the Internet for travel destinations in the Philippines and I found this site with most of the popular destinations featured. You might want to check it out. It also provides information on how to go to each of the destinations.
Here's the site:

Anilao is the nearest destination you can go from Manila. There are many resort there that you can choose from that will give you a romantic getaway.
If you are thinking of Puerto Galera I suggest that you stay in La Laguna Beach Resort, the service and facilities there is excellent, they are located in Big Lalaguna.
Boracay is also a good choice because there are many resorts that you can choose from.
I suggest that you check local travel agent that can help you arrange your itenerary for you. Or better yet check websites of resort that are located in the Philippines so you can get information that you need before choosing the place you will go to.
Low season will start in June so prices may go low...for room rates and airfare.
I hope my infos will help you . have a nice trip to the philippines |

I suggest you go to boracay. Boracay is located in the Philippines-Visayas -Region six-Panay-Kalibo-Aklan-Boracay island (this is like a map). I suggested boracay because it is peaceful, relaxing, stress free, and you can enjoy many sites and many sporting activities like banana boat ride, island hopping, snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing, and many many more. If your an adventurous couple you should go here because it is only crowded if it is already summer time. So don't waste time! Enjoy!Relax!and have a great time in Boracay!!! |

Go to Boracay. You will never be disappointed. Its better or equal to 'some' of the famous beaches in Australia.
Good luck. |
