Singapore is in Asia - Southeast Asia to be exact. The food there is mainly Asian although you can find European, American, Australian and African food been served here too. Bulk of the food served here are either Chinese, Malay or Indian taste.
When you say "good asian food", it depends on how you interpret as "good". By and large, the food served here are "good" and not too expensive. |

Everywhere - well almost. Many little cafes and street kiosks sell excellent variety of Asian food. Not everybody speaks English so it can be dificult to identify what you are eating. Only had one meal in a week that wasn't up to much. |

Last time we were there - many years ago now - the best of the car park food stalls (voted by the people of Singapore) were offered sites in an open-air place called The Rasa Singapura. I don't know if it is still in existence, but if it is - that's a good place to go. We had 3 lunches there one day - started at 11.0 had early lunch; went back around 2.0, then again at 4.0 just to be able to try everything. Didn't rate the cane juice for drinking. Very, very clean, as is most of Singapore because of the litter police - don't even think of dropping a matchstick!
Otherwise, ask your tour guide or hotel. |

There are many varieties of 'Asian' food served in Singapore. If you mean 'asian' = Indian sub-continent then try 'little India' in Singapore. But if you mean the continent of Asia (as it should be used correctly and not in the previous parochial sense), then you can find a huge selection. For posh Chinese food, there are many good restaurants, e.g. the Goodwood. For a wide selection of fast, hawker foods, try the Newton Circus food court. But you will also find many excellent food courts attached to shopping malls, e.g Takashimaya basement. |

Most tourists will visit the Newton Circus Hawker Center. Though you can find all the usual Singaporean dishes, it is X. You can also find nice asian cusine in most hawker centres or foodcourts.Just look out for any decals displayed at the stall, such decals r given out by "recognised foodies review".
It depends on your budget. If you have a fat wallet, try pampering yourself to Tunglok resturant@Liang Court(Cantonese Chinese Cuisine). or No Signboard resturant |

It has been a long time since I visited Singapore, but every place I ate had good food... Chinese, Indian, and Malay/Indonesian, as well as western and other Asian cuisines. Singaporeans appear to prefer the inexpensive hawker stalls or shopping center food courts, and there are many of these. Singapore is a wonderful place to eat and eat and eat. Enjoy! |
