Geographically it is separated into two different parts, one we call the West (or Peninsular or Mainland Malaysia) and the other, the East, both of which are separated by the South China Sea.

West Malaysia is the piece of land stretching from and lies between Thailand and Singapore.

East Malaysia is the piece of land on the island of Borneo towards the east of the Mainland, less Brunei and Kalimantan (Indonesia).

anyway it is located in asia. south east asia. the neighbouring countries are thailand ( do u know where thailand is cause americans really love thailand), indonesia (americans love to go to bali too) and singapore (it is often mentioned in many american movies).
