I am Derrel from Dallas, Texas. In the US, we have many accents, but mostly everyone speaks the same. Although, some accuse people from Texas (or Texans) of having our own language.
Here is my suggestions. 1) Do find friends who speak english well and engage in long conversations of only english. Try very hard not to use "ano" so much. 2) Read articles, books, product labels or any english printed matter with a friend that speaks english well. Follow their pronunciations. 3) Listen to english speaking TV and radio and repeat the phrases they say. If you have a recorder, record your speaking and replay to verify you have properly pronounced the words as you hear others say them.
Now, who can help me with my Tagalog and Visaya?
Sige,
Salamat po! |

Most colleges (more so the community colleges) offer English emertion classes. On the same note take a few classes at a college that interest you. Also finding a job where you speak English will also help. |

Through socializing with English only speakers. Conversation is by far the best way to improve your pronunciation. I worked with a gentleman from the Philippines and although he had been here many years he still had some ways of speaking that weren't correct grammar. He asked us, his coworkers, to tell him when he spoke incorrectly because he wanted to correct it. We were happy to and he learned a lot and his English improved. |

Go to where the American Expats hang out and learn from a native speaker. If you can't do that, believe it or not you can learn correct english by watching movies or cartoons. I have a 12 year old nephew who speaks english perfectly who learned just from watching cartoons in english. |

There's a guy in Tanay, Rizal who's not doing anything. He can give you training in speaking in English. |

if u cant go there, convince ur friends to speak english. There should be a fine for those who speak ur native lingo.
watching and reading english movies and stuff would also make you good in english.
