I'd prefer Indonesia. But, if you like to go shopping, probably Hongkong is better. Indonesia has a lot of beautiful places and most of foreigners prefer to go to Bali. I recommend you to go there and you won't repent it.

I actually live in Indonesia as an American expat. Bali is absolutely gorgeous. Check out the Nusa Dua Beach Hotel online. You won't be disappointed. Stopping over in Singapore would round out your travel experience.

I'm an Indonesian. It's a great place, lots of beautiful places n tourists attractions. Like everyone else, I'd suggest Bali. But there are also places like Lombok for a more laid back holiday, Tanah Toraja, Yogyakarta and Solo, Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Nias Island, and so on.

But if you want to go shopping, Hong Kong and Singapore is the place. I recently went to HK, it's very hot, almost no beautiful scene. You'll be surrounded by very tall buildings.
Last time i went to Singapore was about 2 years ago. An urban city, you could have a great shopping and observe the multi-cultural life in such a small place.

However, I'd still say Indonesia is the place for your holiday...

Go to Bali for 2 or 3 weeks! it is wunderfull there and make a stopover in singapore for a few day's!

Singapore and Hong Kong are far safer for a Westerner than Indonesia. All 3 are beautful countries, and given my choice, I would pick Singapore. (Hong Kong is too crowded for me).

As suggested, it will be more of what kind of holiday do you want to look forward to. Each country has its merits.

bali in Indonesia is a nice beach resort. Things are inexpensive, and you can make your holiday last much longer than you could in the other 2 countries.

Hong Kong has a cooler clime, though this time of the year is the typhoon season till Oct. So you have to be prepared for that. Lots of rain when it does. But there are beautiful sights there. Hong Kong Disneyland too. So you have options for holiday plan. And shopping is pretty good there, though the sale is almost over this week. Food, pretty good tim-sum if this is your liking. Or even Chinese style seafood in the restaurant. Need not be expensive if you check around. Even in those grand looking restaurants.

Singapore is a little country, but it still has some great visiting sites. Modern and neat, it may be worth a visit before relaxing at Bali!

But if you want someting with a mix of the above, consider paying Thailand a visit, especially Phuket for the beach resorts, great seafood, all at low cost. There are theme parks to visit too if you can drag yourself off the beach. Plus beautiful islands to hop around and swim in some great waters. Though this is still the wet season, it may be worthwhile too. And it is not far from Singapore too. Cheap shopping too if you like it.

So the choice is really up to you.

Singapore is very humid and you will sweat at all times.

HK is better.

And in Singapore, they say it is multi-racial, actually it is not. The majority are given more opportunities. Racism exist in Singapore.

HK is more expensive place though.

I recommend Malaysia. It is a good shopping place and cheaper. But the weather is as hot as Singapore. But there are more things to offer in Malaysia.

Indonesia is not bad.

I take it from some of the answers here that most people have not been to HK, Singapore or Indonesia.

I live in Hong Kong but given the choices presented to you by your boyfriend, I would suggest you fly Singapore airlines, stop in the city for a couple of days before flying on to Bali for the remainder of your vacation.
