Depends on which criteria you use to determine that question - for instance are we talking: economically???, politically???, demographically??? |

well u get mixed up answers here. My company made a trip to china (Beijing) last year. And of course all the Chinese enjoyed it. The temples, the food etc. But the non-Chinese didn't much enjoy it cause for the Malays there were not much of halal food found and temples they didn't like to visit...so the best is if you want to see Chinese people we have tonnes of them in Malaysia as well, food? we have Chinese food in Malaysia as well, temples? we have Chinese temples as well, Chinese goods, we have many shops that sells ancient Chinese good as well..we even have a little China in Malaysia..so relax and enjoy Malaysia...unless you have your ancestors in China then its good to know your roots. Who knows you may be related to one of the Emperors ! |

It's a subjective question but been lived in both countries I will say I like China better (in this case: Beijing).
Of course everybody will say China is dirty and full of pollution but Malaysia and other country are the same. China is polluted because being the world's most densed country, what more can we expect..
But I love China, the food are delicious, stuffs and goods are cheap, and Chinese people are not strict about entertainment at night. China is fast developing now..
I also think that China has one of the world's best scenery, the country has everything, from dessert to snowy mountains. Tropical beaches and lakes.
So I will say China!! |

benny L, I like your answer man!! It depends. it's certainly warmer in Malaysia for the most part. I've never been to China but my partner (from Malaysia) has been and said it was amazing. Maybe in terms of historical stuff, China beats Malaysia. In terms of less hustle and a much more laid back attitude, Malaysia wins. I don't know where matey got her information about Chinese people being rude but I've always found them friendly and helpful, just a bit more blunt than your average Brit!! |

Why must compare with China? Malaysia is Malaysia and China is China. Both need each other. Everyear, lot of Chinese tourist come to Malaysia and alot of Malaysians visit China... China & Malaysia have their own attractive. But as Malaysian, I prefer Malaysia is the best country because everything is Malaysia for me. I born and i hope i will die at same country, Malaysia. but Global Traveller has chose Malaysia as the best destination for holiday! I'm proud bcos people already knew where is Malaysia. no need to say Malaysia is between Singapore & Thailand. Malaysia is Malaysia now! Better than Singapore, Thailand, China.... |

I like both. They each have their highs and lows. It all depends on what you want and are looking for.
My tip would be;
Nightlife and lots of westerners then go to Hong Kong.
You want history mainland China
R&R and good food go to Malaysia. |
