JAPAN.... because Japan is the most awesome country in my opinion. It has creative person, high technology, good weather, discipline citizen, like walking to go anywhere, and this country has a balance life i mean for the children they produce comics, for the teenagers it's harajuku style, for the adults it has a good economy and high technology so japan is very perfect, besides that Japan has an origin culture which is never disappeared even they always try to show their culture to the abroad and also the language, it has an unique written and unique accent But after i learn much about French i started to be interesting in it but i think japan is still more interesting. |

Definitely not France!!!!!!!!!!!! I was in Nice France and Monacco (they speak french too) and went up to a guy (a guard) and said 'Excuse me', after he heard me speak english he totally walked away from me....I got so mad, I was like 'you've got to be shittin me!!!'.....Geez, from what I've learned during my vacation abroad in different countries of Europe, the french were the worst, they thought they were all that (which they're not). JAPAN IS THE WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I think French are generally having more stronger body odor than Japanese. In addition it seems there are too much more gap between the wealth and the poverty in France than in Japan.
Furthermore, French are not commonly too generous to non-French speaker of tourist than Japanese to non-Japanese speaker of tourist.
The beau natural environment, elegant street's view and culture, gourmet foods, languid but coquettish night and passionate human relationship all day are several reason why I love France but for standard American, I think that France is just too close to their everyday life except the language.
If wanting to experience unusual but memorable trip, going to travel on Japan would be must thing especially for younger generation. It is safer place too. |

I personally love Japan. I lived in OKinawa for three years, and loved experiencing the culture. Alot of people put down France, but they've probably never even been there. Truth is, the french are sometimes rude towards americans. I remember when I was in Paris, I asked for help at the airport and the man I asked ignored me and walked off. If you're wondering where to go, definitley Japan. I'm going to live in Tokyo when I grow up. Its my favorite place on earth. So yes, Definitley Japan. |

Japan. The French are sore losers. They've lost the Tour de France 8 years in a row. They had to cheat an American out of it last time.Japan is a cool country.I like their culture, and love their women.French women have more body hair than I do. |

You posted this question in the category of "Japan", so why both even asking the question?. LOL
anyway, personally I prefer Japan because it's rich in culture. I also love its variety of food and its style of clothing. Also, the scenery of Japan is amazing, i'm always mesmerized by the beautiful cherry blossoms. The language is quite interesting as well and its quite pleasing to the ear. |

I hear the French have a severe attitude problem with the US and they certainly don't vote our way in the UN but have no problem taking our money as tourists. I would probably tolerate France in small doses.
But Japan! Wow, a very exotic place from the bustling cities to the wonderful country views it is by far a more interesting location. I have heard that every Japanese learns English in school, as it is the International language of commerce, not true of France.
I would visit Japan, try talking to the younger people who are sure to understand English and go nuts with their food and drinks. |

I would prefer either depending on different criteria.
In Japan they are very organized, the trains run on time (down to the second!), but it is expensive, humid, and everyone assumes I speak Japanese.
In France, the food is very good and life is more laid back. You can find bargains in fashion. There are more ethnicities there too. |

I know someone who's French who lives in Japan, he says France would be a good country without all the french people in it.
That answer your question?
Two different countries located in two different parts of the world hard to say. |

If I can speak French more fluently, I would choose France for the place to live.
I DO love their culture, food, movie, their disorganization, and their Bohemianism.
Though I don't like French people, they are super capricious(>-<)
But I guess that caprice makes them attractive sometimes.
“If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris
as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life,
it stays with you, for Paris is a movable feast.” (Ernest Hemingway) |

I am more interested in Japan. Both have rich culture and history, but for me, Japan's is more interesting.
I also think many Western Europeans are VERY full of themselves, which makes it difficult and annoying to talk with them. They have illusions of grandeur regarding their position in the world, more than any American I've ever met. I will note that I've found the Dutch and Italians to be the worst, though. I've met some nice French people and some obnoxious ones. |

France:
It's easier for an English speaker to learn French than it is for an English speaker to learn Japanese. I believe that if you can't speak the common tongue of a country, than you shouldn't got to it. |
