Which do you prefer as a welcome gift? Chocolates or flowers?

Honestly....both. There's nothing like a flower and a box of chocolates to signify welcome at some new place or destination.

IF just one - flowers but if I'm allowed to be "greedy" I'd take the flowers, the chocolates and lots of kisses! Got to excite all the senses, after all.

Flowers. They are more special because they were arranged for the occasion. They look beautiful on the table, and you feel good looking at them (and showing them off).

Conversely, chocolates are things we buy, with or without any special occasion. In that sense, it is a notch (at least) less specail than flowers when presented as gifts.

zzz... i brought chocolates on my way to marge's house but i got hungry so i ate them. when i arrived there, i picked a flower in their neighbor's house and i gave it to marge. she was so happy. then we drank... hmmm... beer... zzz...

Flowers because you never buy them for yourself and you can enjoy them for a week. Candy is nice bu you never know if someone is dieting or allergic or something.
