I feel that men are more likely to have a sexual affair and women are more likely to have an emotional affair (or affair of the heart as they say).

Most men compartmentalize their lives and tend to think that one thing is not related to another; therefore sex does not mean anything special. Men may not be interested in an emotional connection but may be excited about having the opportunity for sexual encounters with another woman.

Women are more likely to "cheat" by engaging in emotional relationships with a man who is not their mate because they feel lonely or feel that there is a special connection. They may not have sexual relationships with another man but they will allow (or sometimes pursue) an inappropriately close relationship with a person who is not their significant other.

Betty is right I think. And come to think of it, women engaging in emotional affairs could be even more dangerous than purely sexual affairs in men. Men could more easily untangle themselves from such relationships while for women, the emotional affair could eventually lead to something more serious which is of course bad news for every one concerned.

But in another view, I still believe that men are more prone to have extra marital affairs because of their inherent polygamous nature and they tend not to care what people around them would say. Some men even consider it a boost to their ego. On the other hand, women are more conscious of appearances, what people would say, what would happen to the family. Looking at it, society does have this way of condemning more an adulterous woman than a man who would sow his wild oats in not a few gullible women.

Same la Jeffy, coz if Men have affair, they have with Women right? so the number are equal.

But if you are reffering to married person, then i would say Men, it is not because they are worse compared to women, it is just that men have more freedom compared to women (hang out with frens) and they pick up phone less compared to the opposite spouse and always get away with it. ( the risk of getting caught is lower) And a lot of adventurous young chics love to have affair with ppls husband. So it gives them higher chance and opportunity to indulge in EMA. In fact, some of them dont go for it, but drawn into it.

But in terms of desire, i would say both female and male have the same level of desire for affair.

im not a gender racist, but when the guys trying to mengurat the girls, why in the first place the girl are soo bodoh to accept? dont blame guys la...i've read,herd and see thousand of women saying that they cannot trust men easily.... but still trust them when a men give her a flower....
the reality is, both men and women cannot live alone...(not sure about shemale and gay)...
