get married before living in as husband and wife is the best. |

I say, get to know the person very well, before plunging into marriage, but to get to know the person very well, doesn't mean live-in first.
Men might be scared of getting married but for women, its for security and peace of mind. Imagine the hassles of traveling together having passports with different surnames; in filing up any application forms, it's takes time to decide what to write on the space for "civil status", are you single or married? You can't write "married" because you are not, but then, you are already cohabiting with someone. If someone asked you, "Are you Mrs. (name here)?", you can't proudly respond "yes" because you are not really "Mrs" but technically "Miss", yet you have already children and sleeping with a man. Your child would probably wonder why his family name isn't the same with his daddy's surname.

Get married.
"Living in" is short for "living in sin" as we all know...and it's not good to live in sin. :|
And people might talk about a couple who live in and besides, who doesn't love to see his/her wedding pictures everyday at home? :P |

As a Christian with values deeply instilled in me, I'd prefer to keep the bed undefiled... it's definitely marriage. I don't believe in living together. Marriage is sacred and committing your life to someone else without God's blessing is simply taboo, but that's me. |

me and my partner have been living together for the past five years and have been going strong eversince. although we do believe that it still will be best to get married. we don't have the money yet to get married, and we figured that if we are to do that it might as well be something we will never ever forget. we both believe it is not about whether you are married or not-- as long as you love each other and can very well overcome whatever challenges to your relationship, that's more than being married. |

I say just get married..
If you are living in and end up getting married there is no excitement of what the feeling of your first night together in your place, how it's like to do laundry together. Do chores and all that stuff. The anticipated feeling is completly gone.. |

I think if you've dated seriously for a while and are thinking about getting married, then you need to live together first. Sometimes people have weird habits that you are not aware of until you are with them day & night. It's better to see if you are compatible by living together first, because after all, it's a lot cheaper to just move out and move on than it is to get a divorce. I was married without living together first and it ended in divorce. I lived with someone for quite a few years and it worked out great. I would advise anyone to live together first, even if you don't sleep together, at least find out if you can be under the same roof when bad times hit. If you can stay together when money is tight, the bills are late and are eating corn flakes for breakfast and dinner then you can probably stay together forever. Just my 2 cents worth.

Depends on intention of both parties.
If it is only for sexual release/pleasure, and no long time commitment, the first proposal is feasible.
If it is to raise a family, the second (marriage) is infinitely preferable.
However, social conventions in the country, frowns on the first proposal. It might be rough going for both parties, especially on the girl. |

i've lived with my boyfriend for a few years now and i'm sure a piece of paper that says you're legally man and wife won't change anything. but at some point, one of us will eventually want that piece of paper. its not a question of which is better - its about the circumstances around you which will either make or break you as a couple, living in or married. |
