A better question might be: Do you believe human activity is CAUSING global warming?
I do not. All of the "scientific data" that Al Gore used in his movie "An Inconvenient Truth" left out the single most significant source of heating variations for our planet: Solar Activity.
Over millenia, our planet has warmed and cooled in cycles. It is incredibly arrogant of us to presume that our activities over a mere 50 or so years has had such a dramatic affect on the planet.
Furthermore - to suggest that Carbon Dioxide emissions - the very gas which is required for plant life to grow on this planet - is a primary reason for Global Warming is nothing but a lie wrapped in a skin of reason.
If Carbon Dioxide is truly the source of global warming - then wouldn't the obvious solution be to eliminate oh, say 20% of the animals (including humans) on the earth? That should be doable. In a pig's eye!
And which of these experts was it that decided the temperature of the earth 10 years ago was the optimum temperature for the planet anyway? How do we know that the planet itself will not be more efficient in providing for itself and its lifeforms at a temperature 5-10 degrees warmer (or colder) than the current temperature?
These are questions I'd love to ask Al Gore - but he has this nasty habit of only attending functions where the people in his audience already agree with him. So its hard to challenge him on the "logic" of his assumptions. And as long as he's unable or unwilling to answer critical points of view - his "science" is and will be suspect. |

I do, here in Malabon City, Metro Manila,it was said that in the 1970's, one has to dig 30 feet down to reach the water level. Now, in 2008, the residents have to add land fill at least 2 feet from the former ground level, because water level is that much. Where else would all this water came from but Artic and Antartic regions. It is also said that Manila has a coastline of sandy beaches before, but there are none now. |

I believe in climate change but not global warming.
The climate is in continuous change has has been since the earth came into existence.
GLOBAL implies that the earth is getting hotter everywhere. It is not getting hotter where I am so there is no "GLOBAL" warming, regardless of what is happening at other points on the earth.
Even primary school children know that heat rises. When there is a turnaround and heats falls, call me then and i will tell you I believe in global warming. Until then, nothing on earth is going to convince me that temperature changes at ground level or below ground level are being affected by the heat that is rising into the air.
Recently, I saw a tv programme about the antartic which said that temperatures has risen on average 5 degrees more there than the rest of the world. If that localised warming is true, the place to seek for answers why is not in the air but underground.

Sure I do. It's a Scientific fact. It is also true that CO2 emissions help the process.
Just tell me why the same thing is happening on Mars.

Now: You almost cannot distinquish what season it is and its near December but it is not as chilly as before. |

I agree with one answer, there is really some truth to global warming as there have obviously been seasons of differing climates from since the world begun. Ice ages. Temperate times & Hot ages if you want to call them that.
But the real question is it because of man's folly or is it just a natural cycle of events that happens every hundred thousands or millions of years?
People can present to us various "evidences" & make us believe in any conclucion they want us to believe. But each one of us should do our own research & just not believe everything we read. |

I do believe, like any environmentalists.
We should be responsible enough for this environmental issues. We will suffer a lot. Like what has been stated in the documentary film The 11th Hour narrated by Leonardo de Caprio. You must watch it so you better understand. |
