The USA is the undisputed world leader. It is still the world's largest economy, with USA companies controlling most businesses around the world. Technology wise, the USA leads, and we almost always hear of espionage stories about developed and developing countries trying to steal US technology (not that the USA is not doing the same).

Technology may originate from different countries. But by sheer economic and political power, these , revised, and may be repackaged as the latest, high-tech gizmos..

China is pretty much catching up technologically, let alone economically, what with its successful foray into outer space, being only the third country beside the US and Russia to do so. The latter countries are still a force to reckon with, of course. But like Rome of ancient past, isn't it likely that the mightiest country in the world to date (the US) will one day fall by the wayside, and China sprints past it to emerge a world power?

in technology and modern gadgets, japan maybe, for they are so innovative. but military technology and strength, not japan. its military is restricted and can only be used for self-defense.
it is still US, Russia and China.

It's Israel who controls the major economy of the world. Most israelites own the biggest banks in the US and Europe. When US protects Israel interest in any war its the banker in the US who are Israelites who calls the shots.

But if you look closer no body really controls the world except nature--the heat of the sun, the gravitational pull, the cycle of seasons. All economies depend on the latest harvest or the latest storm to predict its success or failure.

no single country can control the world. but the americans are the people who have the widest influence, not only on earth but across the cosmos. where did the present global economic recession begin? it's now affecting every nation. when their leader was about to announce if his government would lend assistance to american carmakers, the whole world was anticipating what he will say. in conflicts of global scale, each party is very aware of what the american government has to say.

their economic might is visible everywhere. but their technology is not entirely their own, though.

i don't think it follows that the one who controls technology controls the world, if that was the case... China (massive manufacturing) and India (technological outsourcing) would be more influential than the USA.

its either the US or China. they actually dont give any info on what level are they now in terms of technology. remember gary mckinnon hacked US Pentagon sites and he said US co=engineered the alien spacehip and is now using it for future use. china has been closed book about it so it may have a deep meaning. who cares anyways, they're there to protect us! hahah lol
