The person who decides, a person to have second chance, is no one but the awakened self. The self that is aware have took notice the defilement of his deeds and inherently it would want to evolve and change. All sentient beings is in the journey to transcend beyond his own expectation or concept of goodness. Change is not a result of a situation, but rather the result of an awakened self who is aware and conscious.
The mind is like a pond, and that awareness is like a stone that is thrown in to, to form ripples. The pond is aware and the surroundings that acts on the pond to shape is equally aware and take notice. Meaning, even if the person give himself second chance, consequences of his deeds must be accepted and corrected as an atonement. There are natures to things, and all are wise to his own degree, but in a society where there are norms and laws, all must be accounted. These laws may not be absolute, but it is what binds complex beings like humans to a state of order.
The only time when a person don't need to do penance is when he corrects himself before doing something wrong. Skillfully, earnestly, diligently, wide eye open, continuously being mindful of the self and the path he takes. You alone is the judge, and the liberator. |

God always gives every person second & nth number of chances.
Between people, God cannot force anyone to give someone who hurt them a second chance. But God gave us a good example to follow. God first loved us even when we were unlovable & do not deserve it. And when you finally come to realize & accept that, then you by your own volition can start to give anybody their second chance. |
