there are two kinds of homosexuals, the other one is homosexual that prefers the same sex. the other one is transvestite homosexuality, or the cross dressers, or those that want to look like the other gender.
on the other hand, there are transvestite, in accordance with psychological paraphilia, that are not necessarily homosexuals but are aroused by such cross dressing. hence, not all cross dressers are gay.

in terms of sociological explanation, most straight men in the Philippines are not attracted by the same sex, and so, the homosexuals, maybe trying to gain acceptance and attractiveness by looking like the other sex, cross dress and attempt to look like the counter part species.

it's the trend.some are nasty, some look more prettier than women.
this are the consequences of too much nakedness in the society, people mistakenly believe that beauty, youthfulness is the key to make us satisfied.Men with money will always look for young women to exploit, women with money will always want to look eternally youthful. Emotionally or psychologically unstable people would pay for short time sex.

I guess it's because those gays you saw are just the ones who cross-dresses. there are also many straight-acting gays here but you can't tell they're gay so maybe that's why you said that.

for additional info, it's said that gays here who are transvestites are more accepted than straight-acting ones. not to mention the careers they have such as entertainers and beauticians. that's a biased problem on gays here though. they tend to think that if you're straight-acting(and bisexuals) you may be a cheater on relationships.

I wouldn't go as far to say that some of those people are gay. In many instances they are intersexuals or transgendered and they believe that they are actually women.

There's a distinct difference between regular gay guys and ladyboys, as my gay friends keep on telling me. Most gay guys don't like to be put in the same category as the trans-sexuals. Not all gay guys in the Phils want to dress as women - many don't.
The reason you'll see more cross dressing is (a) It's less taboo in society than in other countries and (b) Caucasian men look rubbish dressed as women, while smaller Filipino men can really pull it off!

They have in Thailand to they are called katoi but it's what they believe, there women in mens bodies, Thailand has the best transvestic surgens you can find so it's easy to accidently date one not saying there bad just saying it's not as easy to recognize there a man, Many are singers in clubs and shows and are very talented, But this also became because women are beautiful and shy but aren't as outgoing as men but why not have a women who IS outgoing as a man thats one reason they do that, and guess what they are very very beautiful and very talented, It would be mean to look down on them they have reasons for it, Some men don't have the money so they use wigs and make up as you said and aren't as high class as the others Katoi (transvestites) so they wouldn't be as hard to recognize, Mostly they are accepted in Thailand, just giving extra information on it, but the main thing is Don't look down on them, what would u feel like if you had a belief they you were a women in a mans body and some people looked down on you.

our people in the philippines wants to look like women because they want too. they want to be in there feminine side more than just being gay. my sister friend is gay and had surgery to look like a women and said the same thing i just told you and don't judge gay people and say it looks nasty. how would u fell if u were gay and they make fun of you.

because most gay guys here in the states are very masculine and muscular and they like being MEN. Gay people in asia are more like transexuals and try to act like the opposite sex.
