i cant explain my opinion it here..it might hurt u guys.. :(
i once dont believe in god..
but looking around the reality i realise.."who create these anyway?" ..
BUT.. looking back again to many religion in this world... i realise " if God only 1... why so many religion?"

so my "shorten" and "final" conclusion is that.. god actually neutral.. he the one who create good n evil.. so that the world would be "balanced" .. think about it.. is there no evil side... there wont be a good too... whats the point of "surviving" in life if there is no bad side of it? no pain no gain...

im not like the person who dont believe in existant of god... believing in god is totally different than believing in religion.

but i dont want any of u to think too much about this.. RELIGION is very important in one's life. it is the good side for those who need a "keyakinan"(dunno in english) to survive in this harsh world.. juz look at every religion.. all of them oso teach u to be good right?

having religion or not.. is juz the same.. it doesnt affect one's life.. assuming that one has matured enough to think which bad n which good.. he who has reach maturity n wisdom wont need a "religion" figure to teach him to be better in his life..

in light of your comment though, honestly i dont think humans are different from animals. humans are animals. most animals have conscience too

i dont really know why.. but one thing for sure.. those who got religion and stick with their religion very close will be a gentleman incomparison to those who have religion but never apply to their life.. well, i believe all of the religion teach us to be a good person.. so, if you stick with your religion, believe me.. you'll become a person.. JUST AS MY THOUGHT..

we need religion? .. huh sorry i beg to differ .. i prefer to say it like this ... we need faith ... you can call it whatever name u want ... Islam or Christian or Jew .. Hindu .. et cetera ... but it all depend on your faith ... that's why under one religion we still have different ways of obliging it. So... faith is something that we cannot force .. it's depends on how the God enlightened your heart.

Why we have faith? ... because there's always emptiness in human spiritual and emotion .. and we can't fill it by spending money or google it for answer. Faith also regulate your conduct and behavior .. if you have strong faith in ex: Christian .. you will not go beyond what the bible allow you to do. A person with weak faith .. will only destroy the name of the religion ... ex Osama Bin Laden ... of his alleged act that goes beyond Quranic teaching. ... So this is also explain why for me religion and faith are different .. but simply with the same purpose of regulating human conduct.

Apart from having it as guidance, it also helps human in terms of having a purpose in life. By having a purpose, life will eventually be a lot meaningful, cuz we know our life doesn't just stop here. There will be a life after death. And religion will guide us to the right path. However in my opinion, it doesn't really matter what religion we practice, as long as we respect others and we practice what our religion asked us to do (obviously, no religion wants their people to do bad things), everything will be fine. But some people just don't understand, when something bad is happening, they blame it on religion, when the real thing is that it is just a regular person doing it. It's not what the religion wants them to do. And for some people who doesn't believe in God just cuz they experience bad things in life, or see other people live miserably, they blame it on God and refused to believe Him. When the truth is, God doesn't create Evil. Evil is just the absence of Good. But it doesn't matter. We can't expect everyone to be perfect. Like what Kathy said, we need some 'balance'. But in the end, life in this world is not permanent. What matters most is the afterlife. And this is where the religion will help to guide human.

We do not need religions (e.g. Islam and Christianity), if, as you said we need religion to guide us, then there are options, like, Buddhism or Taosim, which are "philosohpies" of life...
Men or the human race has long been asking why they exists, and for what purpose ? Where do we go after death ? The quest for answers to questions like these made them look for "signs" which may provide solutions...They also look for something or something higher in status, since Man reasoned that there must be a higher authorithy for their being...and when something strange happens, like erruptions of volcanos, earthquakes, virgin birth....they conclude that these happenings are acts of the higher being they are looking for...and it is these they are lookng up for guidance...the gods, or God...hence "religion"...

I agree with Princess Kathy, actually...I'm not an avid believer in religion (ok, u can start nagging me about the first principle in Rukunegara), ask my friend...they know me...
However, I do believe that there is one higher power above us....one highness that is greater than humankind (even Bush..hehe)....so, I do agree too that religion, even indirectly, is needed to guide us, the Beings of Light and other blessed living things on this Mother Earth.....

To answer such a question, we inevitably put ourselves 'out there' to be judged. For me, religion is a safety net I need to maintain my sanity (as irrational as it may seem). To keep in mind that we are not capable of everything is just the beginning. No matter how well and intricate we have planned something, there is always the X factor that haunts us. So if the X factor is there no matter what.. then why is it wrong to believe in a certain God, that might as well be the one controlling all the X factors? Then, not only will our planning be detailed and complete, but we also add a pinch of hope and submissiveness to the will of God... Thus, in the end, if everything works out well, we will be satisfied with our preparations and also grateful for the help God extended to us. But, if a terrible X factor happens to harm our plans, we will just have to accept that God must've meant for it to happen (and for me, all of God's intentions towards us are good, whether our limited minds are able to comprehend it or not).

I don't need religion, all i need is faith and belief. It wasn't religion who told me of good and evil things. It was my parents and grandparents who teach me whatever i know today. They teach based on what they believe is right and what they believe is is wrong. So far their knowledges that they passed to me works very well.

Well said most of you. God, religion and faith all comes together as one. Just like why we have so many religion and beliefs.
Once i was still a kid at school. My Indian teacher taught us that of all the religion in this world, it is actually one God, the reason why it is different from each other is from which angle you look it HIM. Like looking at an object from different angles, and all angles gives you a different image. The different is the way religion was branch out and depend on the preacher, who manipulate human faith in religion for their own benefit, like the hunger for power, hence, they ( we ) are animal. We destroy and kill each other for power. ( in the name of GOD ) So in my own believe, God does exist as long as we want to believe as long as the believer from each religion believes in themselves to help and assist each other to distance ourselves from our forefather, The Animal.
Religion Is a very complicated subject to agree and understand.
