Goes without saying that she has to be someone who can live with me through thick and thin.

Love is blind. And so I sure hope that she isn't but that she will have a heart encompassing enough to see through and beyond me.

I would choose someone I can live with. That would mean, with or without love, you can live with the person all the rest of your life.

Someone you can't live without is only a temporary feeling especially when the love is new and your feelings are overwhelming. Feelings temper or mellow through time, and the person you married and have been head over heels in love with, would suddenly be like an ordinary person in your life.

I saw couples in their old age sleeping in separating beds or rooms. And these were the people who professed love to each other eons ago that they would die without each other.

Better marry a person with good conversational skills. At least there is someone to communicate with when you are both confined to your rocking chairs.

Marry someone that you can live with. If you can get along with someone through thick and thin, then you've really got something. It will last and last and you will grow together in a thousand different ways.

The "can't live without" is a temporary feeling. Maybe its love, but the "can't live without" feeling is probably not mutual (at least not to the same extent), and is sexually based. As fun as it is at the time, its burning hot, brightly and quickly. Not slow, warm and lasting.

Think long term, and good luck.
