It is 'honest' advertising. How can the Tourism Malaysia openly claim the food is good when they can't or haven't tasted it. |

hmmm... you have a very good point there. but it's Malaysia here and it'll never ever happen. What a waste, don't you all think so? |

Di mana bumiku pijak di situ langit dijunjung.. Since Malaysia is a Muslim country, how could they claim a non-halal food as their food.. Muslims can only have halal food |

Ba Ku Teh is not a halal food but I think Ba Ku Teh is really good to eat , so maybe that's why it's not a part of Tourism Malaysia. |
|

what is ba ku teh?? even the sound of it is so pelik....
maybe thats why the tourism malaysia dont declare it as malaysian food. it would scare the tourist who never heard of it before.
btw.. malaysian food is what most malaysian citizen eat. since all races eat nasi lemak n roti canai, thats why they declare it as malaysian food. we can see almost every races enjoy eating roti canai or nasi lemak.
since you all say that ba ku teh contain pork, so most malay is muslim, so muslim does not eat pork, so majority malaysia is malays, so i guess that answers your question la..
conclusion is, not all MALAYSIAN eat ba ku teh... so thats why tourism malaysia does not declare ba kut teh as MALAYSIAN FOOD.. |

Yeah man...because they need to please certain government regulations...if only this food been promoted to other asian countries i'm sure it'll add more revenues to the tourism industry. |

Honestly, why does Singaporeans claime Bak Kut Teh as their food?! I can be very sure that it's from Klang because my great grandad invented it, believe it or not! And I'm very proud of him...
The answer to above's question's because Muslims hate it.. and we live in a country with up to 60% of Muslims... |

The " Bah Kut Teh" need not necessary be pork base.
Theres Chick Kut Teh as well as Beef Kut Teh , theres even Vege Kut Teh.
As malaysia trying hard to be an islamic country,Tourism Malaysia missed out the whole point.Infact in Islam , the religion misses out a lot of points.
That this is a Multi racial society. And our tourist arrivals are not 100% arabs.
We already know that our present government are mostly idiots.
They are able to see the "terowong" of AirAsia stewardess , but they cant see Bak Kut Teh.That is so Islamic.
Anyway, do writes in a letter to the Ministry. |

Let us say it is because of the French influence.
Please understand that in France if one enters a province the
best regarded foods there cannot be ordered within another province, where pride and odd sense of honor if not tradition demands no recognition of certain food styles outside of a
man-made point of departure.
Ba Ku Teh is a preparation evidently that lives within specific boundry and thus not the National Fare approved by Tourism Malaysia. 'Frogs' & 'snail eaters' are usual epithets cast at French provincials; feel free to borrow these describing all
who borrow from previous Asian colonial powers. |
