Why China so many fake products?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ is the answer! Some Chinese would not think twice producing fake products even if it can cause death, like the tainted milk formula! These ppl should be hanged!

The Chinese people have been living for generations in a hand to mouth fashion, first the emperors, then the western powers, the japanese, on to the communists under Mao, they simply tried to live by cheating the system. When the system is so corrupt that the only way to survive it is to cheat, then cheat you do.

Unfortunately the Chinese have now accepted cheating as a fundamental way of life, the law is a way for the police or government to abuse the people so it is ignored. If there is a policeman standing at an intersection then the law will be obeyed, if there is not then there is no law. If you are watching when your goods are weighed then you will get what you paid for, if the scale is correct.

Unfortunately, there has been no rule of law in China, ever. Therefore there is no concern for the law. There is no respect for others, there is no concern for anything other than immediate profit, and certainly no concern for what that immediate profit may bring besides money.

Every daily action of the Chinese will betray their basic thinking of immediate profit, survive for another day, and deal with problems as they arise. This is all, of course, the result of living on the edge and avoiding the various oppressive governments for so many generations. Chinese must pay taxes on earnings but few do so. The Chinese are among the most highly taxed in the world, #3 on the list in fact, but most pay no direct taxes at all, but they do pay heavily for every government service, even the forms are charged for. And forms there are in plenty since China's Bureaucracy is massive and bleeds inefficiency, most people not only pay the fees but also bribes to ensure that forms actually get processed, and quickly. Companies pay for annual "gifts"to officials in order for their various businesses to be able to run without government interference. It is all part of the system. Unfortunately it also allows inspectors to overlook infractions or to simply skip inspections altogether. What better breeding ground for corruption could one ask for.

3. It's highly PROFITABLE (many many interested buyers, who more often than not do know they are buying a fake, but don't care bc/ it looks just as good and is many times cheaper)

Simple market economics. Supply and demand.
Also, western products such as clothes and DVD/CDs are so over-priced that the average Chinese salary cannot afford such luxuries. A store in China is not going to sell an expensive product that nobody will purchase, so instead they stock inexpensive, pirated knockoffs that will fly off the shelves.
Add to this fact that international copyright laws do not apply in China, or rather, they are not upheld or enforced, so there is no penalty for a Chinese retailer to carry fake stuff.

Get real people. Look at how much McDonalds, KFC, etc... are paying Chinese workers compared to US, Canada, etc.. Don't blame China but blamed on the foreign corporations for keeping the salaries so low. If they pay higher salaries to the workers, the local companies will pay higher. More people will be able to afford real goods instead of fakes. How much is Starbucks charging people in China compare to other countries? Most people in Canada, US can afford to drink in Starbucks but most people in China can not.
If you haven't live in China getting so less salary, you shouldn't complain. If you are getting a minimum wage in Canada or US, you will complain about the gas prices and others too.
You should all be fair. China is a developing country not a developed country yet.

Why foreign corporations lower the prices of goods for people to buy and eat in China according to the living standards? You can get a haircut in China for less than 1 CDN dollar.
Some people in China are making less than 1000 CDN per year.

There are a lot of rich people in China but China has a huge population so the figures are distorted in a way.

Politicians are not paid so much in China so their will be corruption.
How much is Stephen Harper getting paid as a Prime Minister or how much is George Bush being paid as the President compared to the leader of China?
What happen if the leaders in western countries are paid the same as Chinese leaders then will there be more corruption?

If most goods are not made in China or developing countries but made in developed countries, do you think you can afford more goods to buy? Do you think the Nike shoes you buy will be that cheap if made in Canada? Just because foreign corporations produce the goods so cheap in China to sell to you so they can make huge profits. You tell me what goods are made locally in Canada, US, etc...

Why you shop at Walmart? Ask yourself what is the true price that you will be paying?

Stop bashing China here and there. As a developing country, they need time to change things.

Can you tell me why the foreigners come to China to buy fake products? There are fake DVDs but I see the foreigners buying them or even fake computer programs and games. Even to that matter why I see foreigners downloading pirated games online or music or movies.

Please don't tell me that you haven't bought any fakes at all.

The low income earners in Canada, USA, etc... will not be able to afford the luxuries that other people can. They are worried about paying the rent or buying food for their children. Yes, Canada are paying welfare to people who don't want to work but how many people though compare to China? If Canada have to pay to at least 500 million people, do you think the government will be able to solve these kind of issues. Canada has 30 million people are so compared to over 1 billion people. What's the poverty in Canada compared to China? Or even America, etc...

Why do the Chinese have to listen to the west but not listen to the Chinese instead? Americans tell China to appreciate their currency because China has an unfair advantage. But what is the real truth behind it. It is not China causing the economic problems. It is the American management of the financial industry. If China didn't buy some much bonds from America, do you think America will be surving the financial problem now.

People think China is bad but are they really that bad compare to others?

Do you think so ? then perhaps you should wait till you see Thailand. All fake Louis Vuittion products and handbags are made to perfection ( better than the genuine ones in France but much cheaper ), you can even buy a fake degree or certificate from the universities all over the world.

China has no anti-counterfeit laws. Its only the USA pushing for them on things like DVDs etc that there being put in place.

To be honest they don't work, if your white and you know there to ask you can buy fake anything.

What do you think? China has the largest population in the world. It's not easy to try and control such a vast lot of people, especially now that China is becoming a manufacturing hub. I'm not saying that manufacturing fake products is morally right, but think about it. The Western countries depend largely on China for manufactured goods. They have to supply so many countries. It is inevitable that there will be slips, especially with such a vast market to control. it's impossible.

After all, the countries that import these goods have a responsibility to check all these food products carefully and thoroughly before letting them into the consumer market. Before pointing fingers at others, one should consider how they themselves have also neglected their personal responsibility.

Cheating, faking, and stealing other people's ideas is ok because there is a fundamental disrespect for law as Westerners understand it. It all goes back to the teachings of Confucius, and the five primary relationships therein.

But the cheating, counterfeiting and lawbreaking is the least of it. In the early days of Chinese prosperity, they were content to counterfeit DVDs and pop music Cds. Now, they are counterfeiting automobiles, aircraft, and computers.

China has some of the worst working conditions in the world, denies their workers healthcare and the right to speak out. China executes more prisoners than the rest of the world combined. Chinese factories export poisonous pet foods, and people foods, toys with lead paint, and in the most recent scandal, toxic milk powder. These days, China even has the audacity to produce counterfeit replacement wings for Boeing 747s, and all of China's chickenshit trading partners don't have the huevos to say anything about it!

China's current prosperity is based on cheating: They are members of the WTO and the G8, but don't follow the rules those organizations lay down for them. They cheat, and by cheating, they have prospered. The value of the Chinese currency, the RMB, is strictly controlled by the PRC government, and is artificially low so that it can out-compete most currencies. The cheating, articially low "China Price" actually allows it to out-compete some African countries!

The Chinese government maintains it's own phony definition of human rights, and has no compunction about forging alliances with the world's most despicable regimes, such as the prison state of Burma (aka Myanmar or the Dictator's Disney land) Robert Mugabe's Zimbabwe, as well as the genocidal Sudan government in Khartoum.

Then there's the fakery of the Beijing Summer Olympics. The pre-pubescent "women" on the gymnastic team are actually so young that some of them were losing their milk teeth and denying medals to honest competitors.

Shame on the Olympic commitee for awarding the Olympics to these monumental cheaters and liers. It sets a very poor example for the rest of the world. Shame on all of us for putting up with it as well.

because the united states is #1 for many reasons and china wants to beat the united states and be #1. Since we (united states) are known as a great empire, every "great empire" will fall, so one day the united states will be poor, living on streets, fighting for food, no education, etc. So since practically everything we own is made in China, Taiwan, etc, we are beginning to fall.
