US - Religion and Government separated. Malaysia - Religion is Government, though not apparantly so....

US - its peope can tell its President to go to hell, its ACA can arrest the President, You can make fun of Jesus Christ and it is OK...If you do the equivalent in Malaysia - 50 red helmated police officers will go block your car at mid-night and arrest you , and maybe give you a black eye...(and is OK) ......Of course, US is not a goody goody place, but its because its people made the wrong choices ... In Malaysia, the government makes the wrong moves - and its people are not allowed and cannot make any choices ....

do you think US a great country??? all you see on that television is just for tourism purpose.. yeah, i know New York City is one great place.. moreover the Times Square.. but have you ever been to Harlem??? Queen??? its only 10minutes away from big apple, but such a horror place to be..

these are some of the reason:

1- crime rate sky high. people being murdered and shot every single day.
2- jobless rate and poverty level is very high compare to Malaysia.
3- the currency is getting unstable unlike China, Aussie or Japan currency.
4- abortion and teens pregnancy is a norm
5- problem with terrorist (local and international threat)

and many more.

anyway, Malaysia is a muslim country because majority are muslim.

what's the big problem with the religion?
human being will keep acting like animal regardless what's their faith, because so much hatred accumulated in their heart without good reason.

1. Malaysia cannot become like the USA because it is just a tiny dot on the map when compared to the USA.
2. Malaysia is Malaysia, so why does anyone want a US cloned Malaysia?
3. I loved the USA ever since I could read, write and watch the world go by especially Disneyland, lol, but as incidents and the like started to happen, I got scared......don't ask me why.
4. Malaysia has its official religion which is Islam. However, it has many other religions too. Try going to Melaka where the mosque, temple and church are all in the same row, next to each other. Classic.
So, if you still wish Malaysia to become like the USA, hey, try to look it this way. You have your wish or answer because YEAH!!! Malaysia is just like the USA!!!
You don't think so yet? Let me tell you what my American friends told me when I ''bragged'' about Malaysia being multi-racial and multi-cultural too.
They all answered, "America is just as multi-racial and multi-cultural!!"
There you are.....both countries have something in common.

Malaysia can be better or as good as USA or Japan.
But your question is why we can't.

Islamic as a religion is the biggest headache , a main barrier to anything at all. Its always a case of this is sensitive , that is sensitive , here is sensitive , there is sensitive .
The government is the culprit for refusing to settle any problems.

Racial problem .
In the beginning we do not have any fcuking problem at all.
All of us contributed to the growth of Malaya back then.
Such things got worsen when we voted in greedy politicians.
Namely those from umno. And umno dictates to play up racial issues. Protect religion lah , protect sultan lah , protect cultural lah , protect melayu lah...as they are endangered species .
That was umno way and until today it is still the same way.
So this means we are not going anywhere with their ways and whims.
And umno uses the ISA to shut any Malaysian from questioning it. RPK went inside ISA for nothing.

Royalty - We have a lot ! As a matter of fact we have the most !
9 royal families.all in all . But none is taking the lead ( except the late Tunku Abdul Rahman ).
All just minding their own rice bowl and their pot of gold.
But how to blames them now? As umno shut them up for good.

Education - During the good old days, it was in English.
However some jerks from umno changes all that in the pretext of creating "unity ". I calls it as brain washing and they calls it as "unity". So, after 51 years we got abundant of "mi no supiking England " graduates.

Democracy - Yes , you do get to vote. You only voted for something but someone else gets to be the PM.
Democracy - Yes , last time you can vote for who and who gets to be the city or town mayor. But umno hijacked the constitution .

Leadership - After the time of Hussein Onn , we have tyrants , liars , killers , rapist , snakes and crocs as ministers.

Americans have such problems too from their senate and congressman but they are able to lick such problems.
We have ministers who will blames God , blames the media , blames you , blames the Oppositions , blames the bloggers , blames Singapore...except blaming themselves!

And yes it is long to read but worth to read .

Not every country wants to be like the US but every country should strive to be a develop country at least economically.

But with things like this below, I highly doubt Malaysia can achieve this anytime soon. Race seems to be everything in Malaysia so the measure of ones talents and success seem predetermine by birth, color and religion.

Apparently a large portion of the population likes this so as far as I am concern, they can and should stay where they are. Maybe they are happy being economically challenge.

I think you must be smoking some serious stuff. The difference between Malaysia & the rest of the world is that every Malaysian know what exactly is the problem.

A few days ago, the entire nation was almost going to war because 1 politician said that other than the Malays, everyone else is a immigrant (I guess he decided to include the Dayaks and Ibans too?).

You have to be kidding me right?. In 2008, after 51 years of independance you still hear this?. And the best part was that half the nation actually agreed with him.

The other half is either in ISA or too afraid of the ISA to say anything. Now you ask any M'sian about this, guess what....the half that thinks they are Bumiputras will tell you to @ off, things are just fine. The other half look at Singapore in envy.

Talk economy, why with so much resources, is it still a pretty backward country?. Why are the middle class not able to afford anything anymore. You know it....you live it everyday. What a joke!!!

why should malaysia become like US? I glad to have malaysia as my country. even though malaysia is a Muslim country but other races still can practise their religious without any harm. i dont think malaysia as an asian country will become like US. Most of Asian country still got strong attach with their heritage and culture.

i don't think malaysian want to become like the US.i think we want to be better......beside , give malaysia time....our country is still a baby......we only celebrated our 51st anniversary as a country (happy birthday!!).....but i think we are on the right track....Malaysia is called an islamic country because our predominant religion is islam but malaysia has many races and religion that live side by side.........so the tittle is nothing to be worried about.
