Why Pakistan,Turkey and Arab descendant are consider Bumiputra in Malaysia while Baba and Nyonya are not?

When you define a Bummy, how do you actually categorize them in the first place?

Not only Pakis, Turkish and Arab descends. Many local Thais, Cambodians and Portuguese communities are also (surprising for some) being considered Bummys.

It all seems vague to me at first but when you consider the way the Malaysian government racially profile its people (immigrants and non-immigrants), it all seem to make sense that all these profiling is for the so-called sake of 'stability' and political.

In the most common practice, a Muslim from ANY country (most preferably of Asian/Middle Eastern descent) can be given a Bummy status (yes, even immigrant Indonesians too).

They will not only be given Bummy status but rights as a MELAYU on their national IDs too, so to be exact, what really constitutes a Malay today?

This is also another reason why we shouldn't have racial prejudice amongst one another as a 'Malay' today need not necessarily be from a real 'Malay' heritage (in accordance to the true/technical definitions of the Malay ethnicity. They keep adding non-Malays into their sect and 'geng' in order to increase their population so that they can proclaim that others are 'minorities' and they are the 'Lords' over others (in the doctrine of Ketuanan Melayu, they believe themselves to be the 'chosen ones' like the Jews, yet they have a doctrine as extreme as a cross between Fascism and Nazism)...

The answer to your question? Its simple... as with the rest of the answerers, first factor is the Islamization of their culture is not present. Secondly, it is the political factor. They are racially profiled as 'Cina', not 'Melayu' at birth. This makes it hard for immigration officers and the NRD to 'convert' them into Bummys or 'Melayufy' them unlike other Muslim migrants.

are they really? i don't think so. no they are not. they are considered as in the 'others' aka 'lain-lain' category.

unless if, they married a local malay, then yea, their children are listed as bumiputera. same thing with indians or chinese marrying a malay, then their children will be in bumiputera category. for them, they should still be either chinese/indians/others category.

i don't really know the purpose of having these categories in a form, but i like the idea of 'bangsa malaysia' instead.

I do not think the facts stated in the question is made up as I personally know a few people of Arab, Indian muslim and Pakistani descent who are considered as Malays. Most notable one is of cos Dr M, who is a mamak (Indian Muslim).
But having said that, these people also qualified by definition to be Malays.
The question is why other immigrants are left out just because they are not muslims.

It has been happening all along, why do you ask now? Hundred of thousands of illegal immigrants in Sabah has been given citizenship status and I am not surprised they would be enjoying bumi's status too. If they could speak Bahasa, copied the malayism and embrace Islam, then I could guaranteed you 200% they are Melayu in the end.
In fact if you are willing, you could be a Malay too. Didnt you people know one MP said that recently? Do I need to dig the information out to proof it?

Because they are muslim. Whoever embrace muslim and live the life like the malays (even if they are non malays) will be considered as malay and of course all the malays will get the bumi title. How stupid!

I believe it is not becouse of religion but Baba and Nyonya is originally from China, right? So they are not Bumiputra of here, Malaysia. The race are MIX with chinesse race.

the bumiputra status is something that can be bought as a family friend of mine did.
In malaysia in the end id about getting the most $$$ and kicking sand in your face.
Even the bumiputras want to out smart each other for a bigger pie and in the end pulling themselves and everyone down.
