im a 100% filipina but residing now here in US. It's filipino culture nice,caring,sweet everything you are looking for a girl. We try to hide our anger as long as we can cause we don't want to hurt people but watch out if we can't take the anger anymore and you will see how we react,how mean we are. Filipino people grow up with love and respect each other specially to the older one. And we value most our family. But not all of us are like this just like other countries we have also bad attitude and we just show it to the people who love to understimate us being filipino and we fight if we knew that we are right. For me filipino has the best not only because i'm a filipino but this is how i observe here in US. Here people don't care each other unlike filipino that they are always there for you if you are nice to them.

its always a cultural thing. filipinos are generally nice and happy people. its because of their positive outlook in life. just be careful of those filipinas that take advantage of foreigners. don't give them your 100% trust immediately.

I guess being nice & respectful is part of the Filipino culture. But, not all Filipinas are nice. There are some who pretends to be nice even if they're not.

I met a Philippine woman over a year ago on the Internet.We talk every day for hours.I have talked with her very large family.We will marry in about another year.She has reasons to be nice to me.I made her cry and also made her as mad as I could to find out who the real woman is.I found she gets mad like most all people do.However the level is quite except able.We are 50/50 partners and she will never do as I say.What I have learned from all this is the woman there if treated equal and treated with respect are the best for having as a wife.They have morals other women do not have.The honest ones are for the family not themselves.They are the cleanest in mind and body of any women I have ever met.I am no better than a bum living on the streets there just have more money is all.I treat them with the utmost respect and they treat me the same.It seems the people who say they are nasty well maybe should stay out of the bars and look in better places and also not have the attitude I have money and you do not so you are nothing.I would expect people going to the Philippines with that attitude not to find the people there to nice.That's a good thing.Well I say they are the happiest and most family oriented people I ever met.I will go there in a week from now.Let you no what takes place then.

Yes, a lot of filipina women are very nice but, you have to watch out for the great pretenders.
Be careful not to believe some native filipino people who try to defend their fellow countrymen on this website. They are not always speaking the truth of the matter.
You always have to take your time and find out the truth about someone you may have interest.
You do not want to get a filipina woman angry. Its best that you remain nice to them.

It's good to know that you have a fine impression of us filipino women. It has something to do with our culture...what the role of the filipino women in the society. That's how we were raised! timid, demure, and submissive. But beware! things change now and people evolve! a lot of filipina women now are aggresive and straight forward! It's human nature to be nice to someone who is nice too. A person aiming a camera for sure is not a threat. You just give your best smile even when you are surrounded by mounds of garbage.

filipino culture is very kind and loving but of course each person is different. my girlfriend sends me a text msg each night to say goodnite or a nice prayer to let me know shes thinking of me. thats why i like to send her load :) i must say filipinas are the best to me!

Just like Well said--there are nice women, not-so-nice women, and downright mean women. Most people (generally speaking) worldwide are pretty and nice.

I do think there may be some cultural items at work here. When reading an article about a non-profit here for street kids, the priest heading it up mentioned that whenever he took pictures of kids they were always smiling--regardless of their health or other situation. The other thing I've noticed is many parents (in the neighborhood I live in) do not let their kids cry very much. That is to say, when a school aged kid gets into an argument or gets a minor injury, the parents are always telling them to stop crying. This could lead to some people always putting their best foot forward.

Most Filipinas are beautiful and nice and are never angry. If you are a foreigner that is the picture you will see because that is the picture they want you to see..
If you watch the local news you will see the angry Filipina and the verbal tongue lashing she can dish out.

That's good, but there are many unhappy Filipinas out there. The Philippines exports many women for sexual slavery, and these women are forced. They are not happy.

Ha!!!! Some are, and others are just being nice to be manipulative. My ex-husband is Filipino....molested my daughter and tried to kill me one night after I threw him out and filed charges against him!!!! Not so nice!!!

I guess you have not met enough of them yet. Some are nice, some are so-so (yawn), and the rest are nasty. Just like any other nationality. Then again, the ones you've met are probably being extra nice to you after they found out you were a "rich" balikbayan.
