Why are those old men going to Asia to get a wife?

Filipinas would prefer to marry a young, attractive man who is probably in thier own ethnicity. There is a slight problem with that though. Most of those guys don't have alot of money. What most of these girls want is to have a financially better life. The only guys that she sees that can provide that kind of life are older retired guys that she frequently sees in her country. So instead of marrying the guy that she really wants she settles for the smelly, sweaty, big-bellied, bald white guy because he is living off his retirement and can afford to give her an allowance. She can also afford now to give some of his money to her family. These old men go to the Philippines to find a wife because women in thier country will not give them the time of day. In thier country they are a nobody. So they convince them selves that this Filipina really loves them for the smelly, sweaty, big-bellied, bald white guy that they are so that it is easier to face the world.

Women from Asia are more loving and don't care so much about age . Women in the west are more conceited, and tend to think older men are a waste of their time. (I also think asian women are better looking , but thats just me.) Mabuhay !!!

Yes, many of these "old men" want beautiful, attentive Filipinas to stroke their egos. Some even abuse their girlfriends/wives.

Yes, many of the girls want a green card and a ticket out of The Philippines. Some even will marry an "old, bald, ugly, sweating old man" to escape.

HOWEVER, there are some older men seeking a lovely, caring, family-oriented, religious woman who is less concerned than Western women about age differences. There are also Filipinas who want a stable, caring, secure older man to love who will not go out seeking another woman or drinking with buddies.

Generalizations are almost always wrong when applied to individuals.

You will probably find that these "old men" as you put it have been hurt/divorced by their western wives/girlfriends.
They have probably heard the fallacy that Asian women are so trustworthy, honest and caring and have decided to have one more go at marriage.
In this case, the Filipina marries an "old man" but gets something a young Pinoy can't give her i.e. a ticket out of the Philippines.
Yes there is a small number of "dirty old men" who abuse and mistreat their Asian wives. The majority of these foreign husbands are decent human beings who just want to be loved by someone and are prepared to risk a lot by marrying the Filipina.
To the Filipina the age gap doesn't seem to matter.
Have you been dropped by a prospective foreigner? You seem to be quite bitter or are you upset that life in a Western country is somewhat better than in yours? This too is a bit of a fallacy as the Philippines itself has a lot to offer.......

Many are old fashioned and are afraid of the feminist movement. So they believe they'll find wives who will fit their ideal in Asia. You know... patient, will take anything without complaining, will not go out, will not try to have a life other than the one she has with her husband. And if she cooks and cleans so much the better.

Personally, I think it's just fear that motivates them to search other countries. Things are so different from what they were used to and they're afraid to change and adapt.

I guess I'm one of those old, fat, bald headed guys so I feel qualified to input on this one. I observed that most filipino men spend a lot of time in the waiting shed drinking tanduay and cursing the white man for their troubles. They also seem to prefer attending rooster fights, betting and losing their wife or girlfriends money, over spending time with their families. Those who do spend time with their wife seem to treat that wife like s.h.i.t in public. Given those young filipina's options for a life partner, I can't imagine why they would choose a decent white guy (fat, bald, smelly, or otherwise) over a stupid incestuous deadbeat.

This is the very common issue about interacial marriages. Unfortunately it's very obvious already that most filipinas who would get into these situations are not doing it for love. I hate to say this but as I see it it's like a lifetime prostitution where in they would get a better life from somebody who they are not really that attracted to. Majority of these men are like what, old, wrinkled, overweight and superficial men who would look for somebody that they can just shut their mouth and simply say yes to whatever they want. It takes two to tango so basically whatever the main purpose of them hooking up together means there's a big reason behind it. For the ladies its money and comfort...For these men its basically about sex, getting somebody younger and be looked at as somebody who is that superior.

To spanky also, well I think you are just looking at one direction right now...You cant really conclude on anything specially from your stand where in this country is foreign to you....Reality bites, so you have to live with it spanky..Hate to burst your bubble, but have you tried asking your wife about the whole truth....Lets be real here

well, i worked with a caucasian guy who was almost 60 years old. he met a lady thru a pen pal agency, married her, brought her over here, had a kid together and after she got her citizenship left the old sap. when he found out i was filipino, he got all giddy and wanted to tell me of his exploits and affinity for filipinas. then he told me he was gonna go back there (after corresponding with a couple women in the PI) and find his next wife.

guys like that CANNOT find a wife back here in the US. why? b/c an american women wouldnt want them. they dont need citizenship. and if they they were a gold digger, all theyd do is be an older guys girlfriend so he can pay for all the stuff. she has absolutely no intention of marrying suga daddy...

picture brides (not just from the PI but in countries all over the world) can offer companionship,sex and a nice little arm trophy to stroke the geezer's ego. he provides the money and the green card to the US.

'coz those men are not the most desirable kind in their own society (nerdy, old, perverted, built funny, missing an eye, etc.), so they go looking for desperate, impoverished women in 3rd world countries, who would just do about anything to escape their unbearable situations. sad, but true.

most older men look for younger girls, just to marry someone, young virgin if lucky. thinking they can mold them what they want them to be. and the number one reason is they all speak English. if the girl is lucky and she dnt get abused in ten to 15 years the guy passes on she get his pension..

used to have a friend that her family agreed for her to marry an old man and they moved to U.S. after the wedding. after a year, she told us her closest friends her nightmare of being a virgin and how her old husband used her. i feel sorry for her. this is just one of those true to life experiences. most older men targeting asian women for marriage are taking advantage of women in asian countries where most of them are still "pure" if you guys know what i mean.

I ask myself that question too. It is quite a phenomenon. You certainly don't see thousands of Filipino men flocking to America to snatch themselves an American woman--at least not nowhere in the great numbers as the US men do to Pinays.

I've met a few US men who married to Pinays who seem very well-adjusted (not serial killers, former criminals and misfits in US culture). They have been married for decades and have kids, decent jobs, etc.

However, I now believe that a great majority of the other men suffer from significant emotional conditions, such as insecurities that lead them to do what they do. Prevalent characteristics include a need to be in control ALL the time, a general mistrust of (their own society's) females--who they perceive as domineering and a threat to their manhood. Quite a few of these men suffer from severe shyness and social awkwardness, often the behavioral manifestation of feelings of inferiority. These conditions often make them outcasts in their own societies, among their peers especially women, so they seek solace someplace else. Somehow, a doting, subservient "stepford" (and more importantly, green card INDEBTED) Filipina wife seems to be the cure for them.

Some Filipina wives, especially those "ordered" over an Internet chat room, subconsciously do not consider themselves equals to their foreigner husbands, which is exactly what the male wants.
