Beer gives us the "confidence" to do just about anything, including making an oration or singing ala Frank Sinatra - things we would not normally have the guts to do when not under the influence. |

because we get to act drunk somehow, the constant pause created in the conversation when laughing or drinking gives us time to compose our statements better. (sino ba naman ang nalasing ng beer, d ba tol?) |

The same way it could make us sing better. Inhibitions are set aside.
"So, I drink to the East. And I drink to the West. And drink to everyone we love. To everyone we admire .... " - a song from the Inspector General by Danny Kaye.
"What do Inspector Generals do? Inspect Generals?" |

It helps loosen your tongue. Under the influence of beer, you forget your shyness sometimes even become so loquacious. I think it's the alcohol that gives a drinker this kind of effect.
It is not only that one speaks English better when one has too many drinks but he either becomes a clown, a poet, an actor, a brag or a quarrelsome person. Sometimes, too, "nagkasapinday ang dila, di na magkadimao ang pagsulti" (the tongue gets so twisted, the drinker cannot speak straight anymore). All the words are slurred or blurred...whatever. |

Because with enough beer in our system we reach that point where we really don't give a spit on how to phrase our sentences right. we get relaxed... most of the time if there's no pressure, things turn out well...
Err... either that or I get enough beer in me that I think YOU speak better English than when you started drinking!!!! |

Maybe it's because it makes us more active. Not really sure about this but when I go to KTV with my friends, I always drink beer to boost me up and it's very helpful, I've tried singing without a beer and I was completely silent, feels like I got no mood for it. It gives us more confidence, because other people are really good in speaking in english, they are just shy to speak because they are afraid that they might say the wrong term or their grammar might not be good and here comes the beer. |
