Probably because they are NOT Chinese. It's a typical stereotype that all Asians look the same and all Asians are Chinese. There are a lot of Asian nationalities like Singaporeans, Indoneasians, Taiwanese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Koreans, Filipino, etc. and they may all look alike but you can actually guess their nationality by their facial features or how they speak.

Maybe they're not Chinese. Chinese people get angry when you call them Japanese and vice versa. It's because the Japanese brutally attacked the Chinese in WWII (i think).

Not at all. I have this Chinese bloodline and I don't care if people tell me that I look Chinese or not. But I often get surprised when they tell me that I look mestizo because I have this pale-reddish skin tone.

"Asian" is such a ridiculously vague term anyway. It doesn't even mean the same thing to everyone. In America and Australia, "Asian" means people from East Asia (Chinese, Japanese etc.) whereas in the UK it means people from South Asia (Indians, Pakistanis etc.)

Because we have our own identity. Asia is not just China and same goes for the other Asian countries. If i know your real name and I called you a different one, wouldn't you get a little angry?

Not sure if its anger,it may just be a feeling of frustration to how some people can be so uneducated to think that every Asian looking person is chinese....or maybe because it sounds politically incorrect? Its like stereotyping every English person, or blond hair girl being bimbo or being down the pub drinking every night.. Obviously this is not true because their are blonde hairs who are very intelligent and profeesional working people who don't have time for the pub..get it?

China - Chinese
Taiwan - Taiwanese
Thailand - Thai
Philippines - Filipino/Filipina
Japan - Japanese
Russia - Russians
Korea - Korean
Vietnam - Vietnamese

Because Asia consists of different regions: North, South, East, Southeast, West, Central, and Northern Africa. China is in the Eastern region. Although China is the biggest region in Asia and the most populated, it is still one part of the continent.

Yeah! Why do they, indeed? They have no right to! So, down with all borders! All Brits should be called Europeans, and abandon their uniqueness as an island nation! All French, Germans and whatnots should discard their local tongue, and simply talk in Euro (which is what I should prefer my money to be!) All Russians, Ukrainians, Japanese, Koreans should be Asians and Asians alone! All Egyptians, Sudanese, Somalis should be Afrikans alone! All Mexicans, Columbians, Puerto Ricans should be Americans ONLY! Nationalities should be by Continent alone!

And then, there should be only one sovereign per continent, preferably Chinese in ancestry!
