Its all a matter of opinion, some people would say burgers are weird food. Burgers are not really popular in China its only the likes of McDonald and co who have thought burgers to China.
Just because Chinese food maybe outside your social norms does not make it weird. |

Not true.
American food can be just as "weird" to some.
I grew up surrounded by farms in America. True down-home American country cooking does not waste anything.
Ever had blood pudding, pork or beef brain, prairie oysters, hog maw, souse, scrapple, kidneys and onions, pigs feet, etc...?
And heaven forbid you ever watch how we made sausage! |

I personally think cheese is disgusting, it smells bad, tastes like s*hit, and I don't understand why europeans and americans love it. Besides, burgers and french fries are just fattening...im sorry, you wonder why all most Chinese girls are skinny, and most White girls are fat. |

We do eat burgers. McDonalds in China has the cheapest prices in the world. We also got KFC and Starbucks. If you're referring to the weird parts of the animal that we eat (eg. organs), it's not weird. I know for a fact that Africans eat those too, and so the Scots (haggis). It's a part of our culture. |

You do realise that China has had a massive influence on what the world eats, and has existed as a nation before people even knew of this place called "America".
To help you out...understand that much of chinese food (not the sloppy, gloppy, westernized crap you get) is based on the premise of taking what little you've got, and over time, learning how to extract every bit of flavour and tenderness you can while cooking it as quickly as possible. As such...you use the entire animal (including the nasty bits), and whatever vegetables or starches are native.
Suggestion- go to China, and eat what they eat. You will be pleasantly surprised, and you'll gain an appreciation for their country and their huge influences on what the world eats. |

Did you know Chinese food is very popular in the US? |

You are wack. Weird food? Cheese is rotted milk. How about some rotted milk on that burger? If you bought it at a fast food place you don't even know if it's beef, it surely has too much fat, and those french fries aren't necessarily made from potatoes. You ever have a home cooked American meal? At least the Chinese still have home cooked food. If you are even suggesting that America has any kind of a food culture worth eating, you are weirder than the food you think is weird. |

I love Chinese food! There are some things that I can not bring myself to try. It is DIFFERENT, not WEIRD. They probably think we eat some pretty strange things...
Different cultures have different diets, clothing, beliefs, language, etc. So long as it does not harm anyone, accept it. Not everyone has to be alike!
It is not only the Chinese that eat "different" things-every culture does. Even here in the United States, some people will eat Venison (deer meat) and some people will not (myself included). I know Americans that will eat racoon and other 'weird' animals. Do you know what Kudzu is? There are recipes for it that people in the United States eat-now THAT is weird to me. But, to each their own...
I will choose Sweet & Sour Chicken, General Tso Chicken and several other Chinese dishes over a burger any day. Do you know that pasta, rice, dumplings and a variety of foods we regularly eat came from China? |

Why can't you eat rice like us? |

Because chinese food is delicious, and healthy for you. |

Its just part of their culture to eat the way they do. |

Why can't you be more open minded like us?
Not that I've had anything "weird" even by your weird standards. I simply think food is food! Anything that you can consume to keep you alive is food. So I don't judge others who eat "weird" food, even though I might not want to give a try on some of the things other people eat. |

I never thought chinese food was weird. I am 37 years old and have lived in the USA all my life and my favorite foods in order are:
1) Mexican (real mexican food not taco bell, etc.)
2) Chinese
3) East Indian
4) Italian
5) American
As you can see American is on the bottom. It would really suck if all we had to eat was American food. |

Dead cow isn't weird ? |

To the Chinese they probaly think the same way about American food - why can't americans eat what we eat. |

Different culture, different taste, different cuisines. Simple as that! What is deem "normal" to westerners is considered "exotic or weird" to others! New generation Chinese are beginning to like burgers and fast food nowadays. Just look at all the KFCs, McDonalds, Pizza outlest booming in big cities in China! |
