Why do filipinos tell her she is beautiful because she has a long nose?

...Beauty basically lies in the eyes of the beholder - which is why this girl appears beautiful, to all those who have a fascination for long noses.
I think that you are not agreeing with their views, because you have been brought up in a household, or ethnic environment, where only a short nose is rated as 'beautiful' !

That's Filipino taste in general, nothing special. On the other hand, why are American men attracted to dark-skinned Asians which, for most Filipinos, are totally unattractive? Why do American women tan their skins while Filipina women spend thousands to whiten their skins? These truly are due to our personal preferences as humans.

Anything that is something extraordinary always gets the attention.

So, just live with it and be cool with it and learn to appreciate it too.

Agree with buzz and gil v. Too bad we have a blanket assumption that anything western is better. Not so. My sister in law has a half white/half Pinay daughter. My wife's cousin also has half- and- half children. None of them look pretty to me. Their skin, of course, is lighter. But their faces look so average.

filipinos are really not blessed with beautiful nose like that of caucasians. we are often described as 'sarat' or 'pango' but for me, our nose is cute.

but notice that some people would want to have a nose job to make it 'matangos' because they think it'll enhance their beauty. so, when we see someone with a "long nose" we find it beautiful. and sometimes we envy something that we dont have.
