I wouldn't say worship. I would say they are more fascinated by them that is more of the blond hair blue eyed types though. Japan is very homogeneous in that everyone there essentially is Japanese with brown eyes and brown/black hair. Anything different will stick out like a sore thumb so they are just intrigued by it.

Let's clear up some of your misconceptions
Skin Whitening Commercials-A lot of Asian cultures prefer paler skin. It is considered a sign of beauty. Also, not all Japanese want to have fair skins. Some of them tan excessively or use tanning lotion to become dark (ganguro girls).
Anime-It is just their style of cartoons. How is that ripping off of anything? Are you even going to say Indians rip off the Hollywood movie industry?
Inferiority Complex-Their technology is lot higher than ours. You have to understand they are a totally different culture. You make them sound dumb because you assume they think all white people look alike.

It was true that our traditional culture favored fair skin in old days.
But it had no relationship with Caucasian. It had been the standard of beauty from 8th century, before our ancestor had first contact with the Westerner.
In the present it is not the only standard of beauty. Many of Japanese women say that they are not afraid of suntan but are afraid of freckles after sunburn. Some of them say that sunburn at now will cause rough of skin in their future. So they hate ultraviolet ray.

By the way I personally love either of brown skin and fair skin if she is lovely.

And I don't like such racial question and bias.

Japanese people do not worship white people. I know you don't want to hear this and you will choose to ignore this but that does not make it untrue.

As others have pointed out. Some Japanese people whiten their skin but this is a minority. Pale white skin was a sign of beauty in Japan before the U.S. even existed. It was a sign of nobility. A farmer works outside and becomes tan. A person of status had milky white skin because they did not spend their days in the field. So white skin was associated with wealth and beauty. It is a traditional beauty that some still like. It is a matter of personal choice not because they want to be another race.

People have tails and Panda's talk in Anime. Don't believe everything you see reflected in Anime as an ideal of all Japanese. This is the real world.

Most Japanese are very proud of their culture and history while maintaining a healthy curiosity about other cultures. I think this is an ideal that all cultures should live up to.

More Japanese do International travel than Americans so if anyone has distorted opinions about the others culture it is the other way around. Many Japanese have been to America and know that the U.S. is diverse. Of course they know that America is not white people with blond hair and blue eyes.

Ask around and find out how many of your friends have actually been to Japan and what they think Japanese are like. Most if any have not been to Japan and only have sterotypes that they can tell you like Japanese love white people or Japanese eat dog (Which is not true), or Japanese women are all quite and men are all hard workers. If you ask the same number of Japanese people you will find that most Japanese have been to America or Europe and can tell you things from their own experience not just stereotypes like you are doing now.

Sorry, you're wrong. And you may want to look up the word "worship". They don't. Many like blue-eyed blondes because they are different....
Have you even met any Japanese? Many of them have lighter skin than most 'white' people. Maybe you watch too much TV?

we don't have such strong feeling toward the white people (and non-japanese in general)

1. the skin whitening
In America, a fair skin may mean the white race's skin.
but In Japan, a fair skin are not necessarily considered as the white race's skin. because there's lots of Japanese(especially, northern japanese) who has a fair skin.

traditionally, Japanese considered that northern Japanese (especially Akita) had the most ideal skin.
because their skin were so smooth and clear.
and even now, many Japanese think it is one of the classic beauty of Japan, and many girls follow it.
also, many Japanese use the skin whitening product for their sunspot.
that's why whitening product are popular in Japan.
we may traditionally love "the Japanese smooth fair skin", but It is not a foreign fair skin.

2.Anime.
personally, I just think the Anime character are Japanese or the Anime characters in the Anime world that created by manga artist.
I guess you want to say that anime character isn't Japanese because they have big eyes.
If so, I would say they are not the white because they have no big nose. lol

3. America
we don't think that all white American are blond and blue eyes. we know that America is a country that were made by immigrants who came from all over the world.
and I also know that many white American who isn't blond dye their hair blond.

If you want to ask a Japanese something about Japan, its people or its culture, speak the Japanese language because they don't worship and speak white people's languages at all.

I think what you say is how you want Japanese people to be, because you wanna visit Japan or living in Japan, so you can feel special.

Pursuing to have white skin, for Japanese people, do not mean that they want to be white. Japanese are no longer Japanese when they become white race.

Hi, I am a Japanese girl, living in Australia. So I know about Japanese real feelings more than you.

Now my brothers are visiting Australia to see me. Firstly, they made a comment on Az girls, "Why are they ugly?" I said "What? They are not, they are beautiful in their ways" They said "They all have very big bodies with fat bottoms and big noses"

I guess some Japanese girls like western guys because western people usually look more manly than Japanese people, but remember beautiful girls in Japan always go into Japanese guys only. Japanese guys are really no interested in Western women because they feel that Japanese guys are more feminine than western women. I think that it is very natural for everyone to feel appealing to same race. No?

Personally, I dont care race. People often stereotype white, black and asian, but I know we cant because I found that I have much whiter skin and bigger eye than most of western women, living in Australia.

I can't think, white people visited Japan at when 1000 years ago.

Anime?
People living any anime-forum said only a few years ago "Too big eyes, sicky, bizarre, etc".
And now, some people say "Why do japs model their anime-characters on Caucasian?"
In either case, they are just a subjectively based judge.
Some Japanese people who have read such forums feel it interestingly.

Japanese do not "worship" white people. Pale skin is simply considered beautiful -- the whole world does not want to be tanned(I bet they have a lot less skin cancer there).

What most Japanese teenagers DO,
is think that America its self is a cool place to
be, and some would like to be American.

And no, they don't think it's 100% white with blonde hair and blue eyes.
But when practically everything is brown/black eyes with black/redish hair, you're gonna think it's so cool when someone elses hair and eyes are so light.

SECOND, most Japanese are fonder of the
paler skin.
And unless they're ganguro, that's what the skin whitening is for.
Not because they want to be white.

I think perhaps they view white as the color of purity, just like most other nations. White to a lot of people is *CONSIDERED* superiority.

A lot of Japanese do think the westerners are all blonde hair/blue eyed people or at least if they're brunettes, they still have the light eyes. I"m American and it kind of gets em for a moment because i'm neither blonde nor blue-eyed. If nothing else, they probably see America as either whites or blacks. Nothing in between.

There was no way to live to imitate America.
