lol why does everybody just want to say hi?

anyway... well confusing to who? you i assume

if they no longer practice islam or no longer consider themselves muslim then there is nothing confusing about it.

whatever the government (or whoever) wants to call you, that's just the label. and if you cant different (hence the confusion) between the two, well you'd probably should read more before worrying about this issue :)

what is in your heart matters the most..

i've heard this before but i'm not sure,
but at least here is the context of it:

i've been searching for God in a temple,
but i couldn't find Him there.
i've been searching for God in a church,
but still i coudn't find Him.
i've been searching for God in a mosque,
and i can't seem to find him there too.
At last, i found Him,
He is in my heart all this time.

I am not sure about Malaysian law, but am aware that Muslims have this spin that everyone and everything was originally Muslim, ie submitting to Truth, Reality and Reason.

They were then led astray by their propensity to indulge in the 7 Deadly Sins.

The Koran is but a warning and a REMINDER.

This is why Muslims call converts "reverts", ie You were led astray but have reverted to your "original" state.

I thought being Muslim was the religion of Islam, and religion is a choice. I didn't know one can simply "be Muslim" without consciously choosing to be so.

I wonder, when one is forced to identify as Muslim because of where he lives geographically, does that person still believe in the laws of Islam? And if he doesn't, then what makes him Muslim?

No matter what religion, anyone who follows because it is law, is not following with their heart. It's like saying, "You must love chocolate, not vanilla." We can go through the motions of eating the chocolate, but can we help it we love vanilla?

Our souls seek out the God force in it's many shapes and forms. It knows we can't all like chocolate, so it manifests to us in a variety of yummy flavors. I was going to say that I fail to see the point in making religion law, but I suppose if you force feed someone chocolate long enough, they will eventually start to like it... either that or they'll just vomit it right back up.
